A multimillion-dollar Affordable Care Act advertising campaign launches today targeting young women, who are more likely to enroll in health insurance and are the best hope for signing up their more risk-oriented male counterparts, backers say. The campaign by the non-profit advocacy group Enroll America uses pets to reach its audience and launches with less than two months to go before the March 31 deadline for enrollment. Enroll America says about 81% of the public doesn't know about the deadline and 69% of people don't know that financial help is available to those with incomes below 400% of the poverty level.
Enroll America President Anne Filipic says the cats, dogs, birds and other pets featured in the ads "help break through the clutter" and are sure to resonate with the public. She cites statistics showing more than 60% of homes have a pet and more than half of female pet owners would risk their lives for their pets.Yes ladies; the left thinks you're a bunch of overly sentimental imbeciles who will be easily swayed if they can just appeal to your love of a furry friend. They believe you'll abandon logic in the face of an adorable kitten - particularly if that kitten can sing. Uh-huh. You read that right. Singing cats. Democrats must be so, so, proud that ObamaCare's hopes are - at least in part - riding on a low opinion of female intellect and a bunch of pop star house pets. Just imagine if a Conservative group was running this thing. The screams of "outraged" feminists - whose intelligence had obviously been insulted as part of the War On Women - would be audible three states away. By the way, where's PETA on this? Shouldn't they be furious? We know they don't like animals being used in ads, and we're pretty sure they don't approve of dressing them like humans. Maybe, one day, we'll live in a world where Democrats aren't engaged in this kind of horrific cruelty.
