“Here’s the truth:@MichelleObama is still the best Valentine.” -Barack Obama, 12 p.m., February 14, 2014.

Romeo Barack dispatched his husbandly Valentine thingy by tweeting a Valentine message, complete with cutsey pictures to Michelle before going off to California to kick off a long weekend golfing with the boys. Before heading out of town, Obama wanted the entire Twitter world to see his heartfelt Valentine to Michelle. Problem is he didn’t realize that the whole Twitter world could see that he didn’t personally send it. If he had, he may have seen that the long gone former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs was standing in the background. (Eonline.com, Feb. 14, 2014) Yep, the Gibbs Ghost came back to haunt Michelle’s Valentine card from hubby this year. Who needs sincerity when cutsey will do? For her part Michelle wished hubby Barack a Happy Valentine’s Day via Instagram with what Eonline.com’s Brett Malec called “the cutest photo ever”. “The 50-year-old FLOTUS took to Instagram this morning to send a loving message to her husband of 21 years. "Hey Barack, I'll always be your valentine! #HappyValentinesDay –mo," Michelle wrote with a snapshot. In the photo collage, which features three consecutive shots of the duo, Michelle makes a funny face that causes Barack to laugh. Barack then plants a big kiss on Michelle's cheek while she flashes a giant smile.” Giant smile flashing comes easy with the prospect of life being one long party interrupted by only one lavish holiday after another. There’s no spark but only ash for the Obamas just one day after Valentine’s. Barack is romantically devoting his weekend to golfing in Sunnylands, California. Still-best-Valentine Michelle says she’s going to “low-key it” back at the White House. She would have joined hubby out in California but likely decided to stay home to wash her hair and study travel brochures. “Aren't these two just adorable?” writes cheeky Bob Parks over at Black and Right, noting how in the pic accompanying the Tweet “Barack kisses Michelle’s cheek (again!) in a romantic embrace”. “Barack also shared a precious photo of Michelle and himself last month in honor of her 50th birthday. "Happy 50th, Mrs. Obama," he wrote several weeks ago. “Too cute.” Meanwhile, until the Obamas came along it used to be “My Funny Valentine”. Now it’s forever more:“My Phony Valentine”.
