It's tough when you can't stock the room with sycophants

Embarrassing: Obama speaks and the crowd goes wild. OK...one guy claps. Sort of.

Whenever he speaks, we know the President likes to stock the room with loyal fans. That way, he can count on a roar of applause when he's done lying. But, what happens when he can't control the audience makeup? What if he was, say, in a foreign country where he doesn't enjoy the lofty 39% approval rating he has back home?

Well, yesterday he found out. After a joint presser with Prime Minister Mark Ruttethanking of the Netherlands, he thanked the crowd for listening, and received a standing ovation. He enjoyed an enthusiastic response. He was greeted with a lukewarm reception. There was a smattering of applause. One guy clapped. A little.
