Democrat Rep. Jim Moran says impoverished Congressmen aren't paid enough ...at $174,000 a year

I don't know how much you make per year, but if you're like the average working American it's probably a whole lot less that what your Congressman makes. They're pulling down $174,000 per year, plus benefits. That's roughly $3,300 a week - but remember, Congress will only be in session for 113 days this year. I know what you're thinking. "How can our elected officials be expected to live on such a paltry sum? Why are we treating them like animals? Can't something be done?"
Well, rest assured that at least one Democrat in Congress understands your concerns, and he agrees with them. Virginia Democrat Representative James P. Moran told Roll Call Cq that members of Congress are severely underpaid.
“I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid. I understand that it’s widely felt that they underperform, but the fact is that this is the board of directors for the largest economic entity in the world. And a lot of members can't even afford to live decently when they're at their jobs in Washington.”

Somehow, we suspect that when these guys say they're "not living decently" they mean they have to settle for 21 year old Macallan Scotch when they'd really prefer the 30-year. Moran was asked if he was referring to certain members of Congress who sometimes sleep in their offices to cut costs. The Congressman said he was, but he was also worried about members who lived with the shame, stigma, and humiliation of having "small apartments."
"Others have small little apartment units and they are not able to spend the time they should with their families, so I just think it's an important thing for the American people to be aware of."
So while Pelosi, Obama, and the rest of these goons run around "freeing you from job lock," try to remember. They only make $174,000 per year. They can "feel your pain" because have it tough too.
