Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Relax, everybody, the Democrats just mispoke

"If I said 77 cents was equal pay for equal work, then I completely misspoke,” said White House economic advisor Betsey Stevenson. “So let me just apologize and say that I certainly wouldn’t have meant to say that.”
Oops! But the president, other Democrats and the MSM ran with that statistic. President Obama had two “equal pay for equal work” speaking events planned around that statistic, and now he has to backpedal. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) is leading the Equal Pay Day push by Senate Democrats to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act. (Shhh, don’t tell anyone that he pays women on his staff far less than he pays men.) And! On Tuesday, ABC Nightly News made "income inequality" for women their lead story with a special report highlighting the income inequality between men and women using a well sourced single example, along with some very impressive graphics!

Neither the president nor the ABC News special report ever mentioned that factors such as education, experience or type of job come into play. They stated it as an irrefutable fact when it is irrefutably misleading. It sounds good, but the facts don't match the narrative. This is just the latest in a series of distraction tactics to talk about anything except ObamaCare and its utter failure to do what the president and the Democrats promised it would accomplish. Or maybe they just misspoke about what ObamaCare would do. I don't think so! Maybe Obama and Christina Romer, former chairman of the president's Council of Economic Advisors, misspoke when they said five years ago that the nearly $1 trillion in stimulus spending would drive the unemployment rate down below 8 percent. Well, it did not get below 8 percent until the administration fudged the numbers just before the 2012 presidential election. What a coincidence! Maybe Obama misspoke when he said there is not even a “smidgen of corruption” in the IRS. Some IRS agents have recently testified before a House committee that conservative groups were targeted. This is while Lois Lerner takes the Fifth and refuses to talk, and the IRS Commissioner drags his feet on turning over Lerner's emails. Neither printed space nor air-time will allow all of the supposedly misspoken statements by the president, his administration and other Democrats to be cited here, but the pattern is clear. They misspeak to achieve their political objective or narrative, and then with the help of a biased MSM they just stop talking about it, and throw out another distraction topic for the MSM to swallow and chase "hook, line and sinker." The credibility of Obama and the Democrats is non-existent with many of us, but too many people are still clueless or in denial. Next up on the Democrats' distraction tactics play book is their "Koch addition". Chuck Schumer, the senior senator from New York, said so – even as we and others were showing you yesterday that he sent the Koch Brothers a fawning letter in 2009 thanking them for contributing to his re-election campaign! Well. You know how it is. He misspoke.
