President Obama and the Democrats have destroyed the best health care system in the world

Planes, trains and automobiles: Traveling through ObamaCare's many malfunctions

Planes! Air travel is one of the world’s greatest innovations. We can travel to anywhere in the world or across these great "United" States in hours rather than days and months, at an affordable price for most of us.
If the Obama Administration had taken a lesson from the airline industry – not its economics, which can be insane, but its approach to operation and safety – we might not be facing the ObamaCare mess they’ve got us in today. We are able to enjoy the benefits of air travel because of the advancements in airplane and flight technology, and airline safety standards. Despite some occasional accidents, air travel is still the safest way to travel based on casualties per number of passengers served. Case in point: I have flown over 2 million miles on one airline carrier since I started flying for business purposes over 45 years ago. The airplane itself must have engines and all other mechanical functions working properly, and plenty of fuel to reach its destination. If a mechanical problem is detected before take-off, the flight is delayed until it is fixed. If it is not fixable, the airline replaces the plane or re-books everyone on the next available flights.

If a mechanical problem is detected while in flight, such as an engine failure, they land the plane immediately for safety reasons, then proceed to diagnose and fix the problem. People may be inconvenienced, but they are safe. But if there is an engine failure in-flight, they do not try to fix it while in flight. They land the plane as quickly as possible, and proceed to repair or replace the engine. Airlines do not put that plane back into service until it is ready to fly again. The Obama Administration launched ObamaCare before it was ready to fly, and is trying to fix it while in flight. At the same time, dozens of other mechanical and design problems were discovered, but they refused to admit failure or even just land the plane for safety reasons. The administration continued to try to get ObamaCare airborne, while risking the health care and health insurance of the vast majority of the population in this country. Rather than delay the launch or land the plane and start over, the administration took off anyway, made dozens of changes on the fly, and dodged questions about the program while millions of people are caught in the ObamaCare gap with no health insurance, or can't afford what's now being offered to them. Worse yet, ObamaCare has some serious design flaws that can't be overcome with a fancy and misleading promotional campaign. Young people are rebelling and not signing up just because Uncle Sam says so, and businesses are doing whatever they have to do to survive the cost burdens imposed by ObamaCare. If ObamaCare were a train, it would be heading in the wrong direction. Health insurance premiums have increased significantly for most people instead of going down as promised by the Democrats. Insurance policy deductibles have skyrocketed for those who can still afford to buy the coverage, and consumer choices are being limited due to "network" constraints. Although the administration claims that more than 7 million people have now signed up for health insurance policies through the exchanges, a survey by the Rand Corporation and another one by the Gallup organization indicate that only about half that number is accurate. That means that the number of people who lost their insurance is greater than those who gained coverage. That's the wrong direction and it's getting worse, so the administration and the Democrats just try to avoid the subject, while their MSM accomplices in this national scam just don't talk about it. If ObamaCare were a car, it would have four square tires. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that square tires will give you a very bumpy ride, and you will not be able to go very fast. Additionally, all of the bumping along will eventually cause other mechanical parts to shake loose and eventually the whole thing will just fall apart. Sadly, the casualties of this medical "car wreck" will be people who can't afford health insurance at all, people who can't find a doctor who will treat Medicare patients, people who can't be treated by the doctors of their choice at the medical facility of their choice, and people whose insurance will not cover the cost of some critical medications because some government or insurance company bureaucrat said "not covered". Whether you compare ObamaCare to a dysfunctional airplane, a train going in the wrong direction or an ill-designed automobile, the conclusion is the same. Namely, President Obama and the Democrats have destroyed the best health care system in the world, made health insurance unaffordable for millions of people, caused some people to lose their jobs or accept working less hours – and done all this while not achieving any of their stated goals. The only way to land the plane, reverse the direction of our health care system, and rebuild a new and more efficient care and cost model is to start over. Starting over begins at the ballot box, because President Obama and the Democrats are not listening, and they don't want to talk about it.
