'Decimated' and 'On the run,' Al Qaeda throws itself a huge party in the desert!

Shortly after Obama took office, his administration began telling us that al Qaeda was on the ropes. According to the President and his people, the terrorist organization was 'decimated' and 'on the run.'
Liberals love to yell that people who are still 'obsessing' over al Qaeda are focused on a largely defunct entity that's incapable of causing any real trouble. The left-wing company line is that al Qaeda is in such disarray that it just really isn't really worth worrying about anymore. ....Maybe that's why they just threw themselves a huge convention! According to CNN, some of al Qaeda's top thugs recently met in the desert for their biggest gathering in years. That's bad enough, but the network also notes that U.S. intelligence either had no idea that it was happening, or they couldn't get a drone in the air fast enough to strike. Oops!

Video of the monstrous hootenanny has been making the rounds, and as CNN reports:
"In the middle of the clip, the man known as al Qaeda’s crown prince, Nasir al-Wuhayshi, appears brazenly out in the open, greeting followers in Yemen. Al-Wuhayshi, the No. 2 leader of al Qaeda globally and the head of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, has said he wants to attack the United States. But in the video, he looks unconcerned that he could be hit by an American drone. In a speech to the group, al-Wuhayshi makes it clear that he’s going after the United States, saying “We must eliminate the cross. … The bearer of the cross is America!" "The U.S. intelligence community should be surprised that such a large group of al Qaeda assembled together, including the leadership, and somehow they didn't notice," said Peter Bergen, CNN national security analyst.
Gee, ya think? I don't know about you, but to me, that doesn't look like a group that's been 'defeated.'
