Dem Gov. of IL seems to think black Republicans are a lot like Jews who collaborated with the Nazis

Democrats are nothing if not tolerant. The left is always eager to remind us that dissent is the foundation of the great "American experiment" and our disagreements only make us stronger. They love the free exchange of ideas, embrace diversity, and understand that it's our differences that make out nation great.
Unless you're conservative. Then, Democrats think you need to be mocked and ridiculed. If you're a black conservative? Well, like a cockroach in a five-star French restaurant, you are to be stepped on with extreme prejudice. This week's "stepper" is Illinois Democrat Governor Pat Quinn. Quinn is currently running for re-election and most polls show him losing by several points. However, you have to keep in mind that this is Illinois and it can be tough to survey the large contingent of dead Democrat voters in the Chicago area. As part of a desperate effort to shore up his dwindling support, Quinn's official Twitter feed repeatedly promoted an online article which managed to offend blacks, Jews, and conservatives in one fell swoop. From the Washington Free Beacon:

Chicago Sun Times readers were stunned last week to find that writer Neil Steinberg has penned a column comparing black supporters of Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis against their brethren. "As a general rule, individuals will sell out the interests of their groups in return for personal benefit," Steinberg wrote in his column, which claimed that Rauner is buying off the black community and its leaders. "It isn't just a black thing. Jews collaborated with the Nazis during World War II, helping them to round up their own people in the hopes they'd be the last to go." Quinn's camp praised the piece and tweeted it out to supporters several times. The tweets were deleted after local Jewish community officials quietly communicated their outrage to the governor.
This is weird, because I thought that - as part of the new civility - we weren't supposed to compare anyone to the Nazis. Even if you're talking about a totally-made-up-and-hypothetical American political party comprised of fascist socialists, you are not to bring up Hitler's regime. Quinn's people are trying to claim it was some kind of internal campaign snafu but, so far, that excuse isn't flying.
"I don't think I've ever seen a Democratic official embrace racist rhetoric and Holocaust imagery like Pat Quinn did here," said one Chicago political strategist. "It's possible this was a campaign staff mistake—but the buck stops with the governor and he better start vetting every tweet personally going forward."
Well let's not get crazy. There's no reason for the Governor to start vetting all his tweets. He's a Democrat. If he's talking about black voters who endorse Republicans - a bloc the Dems view as easily the most damaging political force on the planet - the racist lingo is no big deal. He's free to use whatever ugly, hateful, labels he likes! He can call them "Nazi collaborators," "traitors to their race," or "Uncle Toms" - just so long as he does whatever it takes to make sure they're properly belittled. I know it's a long shot but, if Dems ever start feeling guilty about it, they can just tell themselves that they're doing it all in the name of "diversity."
