Ouch. Check out this new ad from the Republican National Committee. It mercilessly rips into Hillary Clinton's time as Secretary of State. Specifically, it targets her many, many, easily identifiable failures. From Benghazi to Boko Haram, Russian reset to Iran, it's all here.
Of course, it also points out that we're all still waiting for someone - anyone - to name a single accomplishment that occurred during her tenure.
Clinton's people have had months, and they still haven't managed to come up with a sellable answer to "the achievement question." All of the scandals and failures can be spun or deflected, but Dems should be terrified by the fact that they're still running on fumes where success is concerned. I'm sure they're working tirelessly behind the scenes to spin something from nothing, but I suspect the left is about to face a harsh reality regarding the deer-in-the-headlights expression that has, so far, served as their only response.
As for the ad, it's good. It serves simultaneously as a nice Hillary primer and an effective hit piece. However, it also spotlights the Republicans' most glaring problem. If the GOP hopes to be successful, it had better start deciding what it wants to fight for. We've heard no unifying message from the party, and those willing to take a genuine stand seem few and far between.
This kind of stuff is all well and good but, if the RNC intends to beat Hillary with negative ads and a Democrat-lite politician, they've already lost.
