'Anything is slavery that robs you of your ability to control your own life'

Dr. Ben Carson teaches David Gregory why ObamaCare is the 'worst thing since slavery'

Whenever Dr. Ben Carson appears on an "unfriendly" news outlet, he faces a grilling over comments he made last October comparing ObamaCare to slavery. In his remarks, he opined that:
"ObamaCare is really, I think, the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery. It is slavery, in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government."
This, of course is red meat for the left-wing outrage machine that is desperate to destroy black conservatives. So, when Dr. Carson appeared on Sunday's installment of Meet the Press, host David Gregory was eager to roll tape and press Carson for an explanation. Unfortunately for David Gregory, Carson is far more intelligent than his usual panel of Democrat bottom feeders. “First," Dr. Carson began. "Recognize what I said. The worst thing since slavery. I didn’t say it was slavery." Gregory then pressed his guest on the point that Carson had said it was slavery "in a way." It turns out that was a mistake, because it allowed Dr. Carson to unload a boatload of truth on his host.

"Right. I said 'in a way.' In a way, anything is slavery that robs you of your ability to control your own life. And when you take the most important thing you have, which is your health care, and you put that in the hands of government bureaucrats, I think you have done the wrong thing. And, as I was about to say, you go back and look at the neo-Marxist literature and look at what they say - you don’t have to look at what I say - about taking control of the health care of a populace and making the people dependent. This is not what America is about. Do I believe in healthcare for everybody? Absolutely. But I think there are much better ways to get there, which leave care in the hands of patients and of doctors.”
Damn straight, Dr. Carson. Well said. Why is it so incredibly difficult for most GOP members to make this powerful, succinct, argument?
