CNN & Politico: Behind closed doors, Dems calling Obama 'detached, flat footed, even incompetent.'

This weekend, CNN’s John King was discussing the Obama administration's reaction to the continually expanding VA scandal. He and his guest, Politico columnist Maggie Haberman, hammered the President, and made a startling admission. Quietly, they claim, key Democrats are admitting that Obama is too removed, too weak, and too complacent.
After playing a clip of Mitch McConnell, the host urged viewers to "forget" the expected GOP outrage. Obama's problems are now coming from both sides of the aisle. As King put it:
“More and more Democrats in key 2014 races are calling for the president to get a spine, they say, and fire his Veterans Affairs secretary. And what more and more Democrats are saying privately is scathing - calling the president and his team detached, flat footed, even incompetent. That’s what strikes me. What democrats are saying privately. In the wakes of the healthcare.gov problems, they see a president who doesn’t want to take command, doesn’t want to act fast. Raising the competence question. Some Democrats - who believe in government - this White House doesn’t appear to have its hand on the lever."

For her part, Haberman offered a couple of other examples (mostly in the foreign policy realm) and suggested that she's hearing the same thing. That's great, but these comments tell a rather disturbing tale of cowardice, don't they? I'd love to believe we're about to witness the rebirth of a pro-military left-wing conscience, but I just don't buy it. Everywhere you look, the President's sycophants are desperate to spin this scandal as "not his fault," "Bush's fault," or a "non-story." The true believers show no signs of recognizing their President's limp reaction. Moreover, if the higher ups within the party have these concerns - but are unwilling to voice them - they're simply disgracing themselves. If you're a politician who's harboring doubts about the President's ability, but you don't have the guts to make that anxiety public? You should resign. Immediately. If you can't bring yourself to utter your misgivings - while veterans wallow and die on secret wait lists - your cowardly silence makes you complicit in their demise.
