Politicians can’t see the truth when it’s staring right at them

Iraq Today!

Living in Louisiana is an adventure. I remember just how powerful a monsoon can be when weather shifts take place in the Deep South. I was forced to shut down computer operations rather than toast a CPU from random power surges. So, I had a little time to consider what needed to be spoken about to capture your imagination and hopefully lead you to see how absurd politicians can be.
That last part isn’t too difficult either on a national scale or an international basis. Just look at Iraq today. (Sound like an MSNBC special?) We initially went to Iraq because George Bush’s people told him Saddam Hussein was a bad man needed to be taught a lesson about stockpiling Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). There’s no doubt Hussein was one step short of speaking satanic verses and he had a track record for gassing his enemy men, women and children when it suited his purposes. But his chosen replacement is actually dumber than Hussein when it comes to controlling a religiously challenged nation enduring extremist factionalism warfare.

Noori al-Maliki decided (after we trained and supplied his army under the command of specific Generals leftover from Hussein’s administration but, having smelled the coffee and understood the ramifications of Iran and Syria waiting to overthrow the new regime) purged those specific generals and stuck his lackeys and cronies in the newly opened positions. It’s irrelevant to him his replacements didn’t understand the efficacy and effectiveness of America strategy and planning. As a reported 8000 Islamic State in Levant (ISIL) fighters have repeatedly routed an “army” of a couple of hundred thousand men. Need we argue the extreme competence of al-Maliki and his puppet soldiers’ efficiency in demonstrating cowardice in the face of the enemy? Now al-Maliki wants fighter bomber and drone strikes to help him rout his enemy. This effort has become the point of debate Obama’s been conducting with himself as he contemplates his “legacy” while seated upon a porcelain throne. That’s where he does his best work other than on the Nineteenth Green at any acceptable golf course. The end result is normally a matter of him excreting his bombast while seeking to justify doing basically nothing. Al-Maliki wanted us gone. No problem for Obama; he wanted us gone. Hell! I wanted us gone, but I wanted us gone right after we found no WMDs. Other than leaving a few Special Forces Warriors to track down Hussein and bring him to justice; I saw no need to hang around and lose any more good people for a sand pit with burning oil fields. But, America wanted to “Nation Build”. How do you build a nation populated by a people thinking they have the right to kill you because you don’t bang your head on a prayer rug the same way they do. The thought of living harmoniously with people on the world stage thinking this way is totally foreign to westerners. And, that’s where the problem comes in. We don’t understand them and they don’t want to understand us. It’s a male dominated society not giving a damn to allow equality based on race, creed, color, sex or nation of birth. Westerners recognize freedom of religion. Those who don’t agree are allowed to voice their opposition to the differences. But, there’s no right to kill those you disagree with except under Sharia Law. Sharia Law has too many justifiable ways to make somebody else dead. Government in the west is a secular activity looking beyond race, creed, color, sex and national origin. Nations in the Middle East of Islamic culture accept none of this. It goes by Allah’s will and Mohammed’s Law. FINISHED BUSINESS! So, Obama, though schooled in an Indonesian Madrasa, thinks he can outwait Islamic culture until “moderate” Islamists can negotiate their way into power. Sharia Law and the Qur’an state specifically the law is the law and it shall NOT be negotiated unless in bad faith so as to gain ascendancy over the infidel you’re negotiating with at the time. This why I think politicians are idiots. They can’t see the truth when it’s staring right at them. Look at Iraq Today.
