"Culture of rape" One in five college girls will be raped before they finish their academic careers

Ivy League Sexual Apocalypse

Joe Biden, the Captain Peachfuzz of the current Jay Ward Administration, has repeated the claim that one in five college girls will be raped before they finish their academic careers. Peachfuzz, er, Biden was taking his cue from the feminists, who were themselves taking their shrieking points from a lone study that makes this rather dubious assertion. (Hat tip: Christopher Pasley)
This study makes some rather interesting assumptions, as do Biden, Obama, and the gaggle of clucking fems who gnash their teeth over a "culture of rape". Let us take a gander at these assumptions, and take them to their logical conclusion. In 2012 there were 8,919,087 male students enrolled in colleges and 11,723,732 females, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. If we are to take the 1 in 5 number of women raped put forth by Joe Biden and the U.S. government that gives us a grand total of 2,344,746 women who will be raped in the next four years! Two and one third million, and yet parents continue to send their daughters into this extremely dangerous environment. According to the F.B.I. there were 84,376 forcible rapes reported to law enforcement in the United States in 2012. Multiply by four and you get 337,504 women raped in the same 4 year time period. This gives us a disparity of over two million in a much smaller general population.

Your daughter would be safer rooming in East St. Louis. College dorms are more dangerous than the Pruitt-Igo housing project. Oh, I know; only one in five rapes are reported, or so we are told (if they aren't reported why do we assume they happen at this rate?) The 1 in 5 number of campus rapes includes unreported rapes. (Liberals seem to like that 1 in five ratio.) So multiply the 337,504 by 5 and you get 1,687,520 rapes in the general population compared to 2,344,746 on campus. Gee, I feel better! If the State has a compelling interest in protecting the citizenry then every college in America should be closed immediately. But instead they are being given huge sums of money to so imperil our young ladies at this astonishing rate. Why is the government subsidizing our higher educational system and it's criminal culture of rape? These numbers are reminiscent of Global Warming hysteria; make unsupportable assumptions and you wind up with something entirely at odds with reality. Strangely, there is little mention of gay rapes in any of these discussions. In fact, there was little available about that particular topic on the internet. I found this article by Dexter Mullins that provides a few links to the scanty research available. He states:
"According to a 2010 study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in eight lesbians and nearly half of bisexual women have been raped in their lifetime. Four in 10 gay men and nearly half of bisexual men have experienced some form of sexual violence. Despite a push over the last decade to improve reporting of same-sex sexual assault on college campuses, most such crimes go unreported, Stapel said. The CDC study found that 1.7 million lesbian or bisexual women and more than 2 million gay or bisexual men experience sexual violence in their lifetime. By comparison, 19 million heterosexual women are raped in the U.S. during their lifetime. But the LGBT numbers are disproportionately high for a community of about 9 million people, according to research from the Williams Institute, an LGBT research and advocacy organization." [...] "One problem the group spotlights for service providers is the failure to include statistics on their websites about male survivors of sexual assault. "A surprising number of 'FAQ' sections do not admit that men can be sexually assaulted," the guidance says. "This omission contributes to male survivors' perceptions that what happened to them is literally unspeakable."
And in fact there appears to be little interest in researching the amount of homosexual rapes on college campuses, but it is there and it is assuredly a problem - a huge one if we are to use the logic employed by the foes of "rape culture". If we assume that ten percent of all college students are gay (the number often bandied about by gay activists) we must therefore assume at least 2 million gay students. If the rape percentages hold (and why should they be any less?) then we are talking about at least 400,000 gay rapes - more homosexual rapes than all rapes that occur across the entire nation in a similar time frame. Now why don't the liberals mention THAT? Even assuming a 3% gay student body (closer to the actual numbers) and you see where that gets us. It appears we have a horrible epidemic of gay rape on campus, and actions must be taken immediately to put a stop to this. If straight men are to be held guilty until proven innocent then so too should gay rapists. Groups like PFLAG and other LGBT organizations should be designated as hate groups and summarily exiled from any college campus, because they support gay privilege and a culture of homosexual rape. No means no! We must ask; if there are so many incidents of college rape, why aren't colleges taking action? Why do we have co-ed dorms, co-ed showers, unisex bathrooms? Why do they distribute condoms and host sex weeks on campus? If this really is the problem they claim then colleges should be instituting strict rules against anything that may lead to this "culture"; impose dress codes requiring modest attire, ban alcohol on campus, teach traditional morality. But this is exactly what schools are NOT doing, and in fact when it is suggested that we need a little more Christian morality the liberals will shout it down vociferously. This proves that this is a phony crisis, because if it were real parents would demand these changes to protect their children. As it is now, parents are taking out second mortgages on their homes to risk their daughters safety and virtue in an Ivy League Sexual Apocalypse.
