It’s time for another “Arab Spring” in the Middle East; this time to cleanse the Palestinians in Gaza of Hamas.
When our children act violently upon each other, the adult asks, “Who struck first?” For the third time in six years, Hamas strikes first at Israel. It has chosen to indiscriminately lob thousands of rockets at Israel, praying “Allah Akbar” that those rockets will kill Jewish children. Big time “unmitigated shame” on Hamas. By doing so, Hamas places its own Palestinian children intentionally in death’s path in order to disgustingly garner the sick support of international Jew-haters and the clueless.
Israel responds to these rocket attacks with warnings of inevitable retaliation with media warnings, and with leaflets, and with phone messages and yes, finally, with targeted air strikes, etc. Now, after rejecting Egypt’s ceasefire plan, Hamas is faced with a ground assault, as well as air strikes. Israeli children don’t die because Israel is pretty good at what they do, i.e. protecting its children. Unbelievably, Palestinian children do die unnecessarily. So so tragically for them, Hamas’ leadership doesn’t really care about the death of their children. Hamas holds some bizarre rationalization that this is ultimately a good thing. They value death. We Christians and Jews value life. Palestinian children's’ deaths, in fact, serve the ends of Hamas.
Israel uses its Iron Dome defense system to protect Israeli children, and uses warnings of all kinds to try and protect Palestinian children. To the perverse contrary, Hamas uses its children to protect its rockets…….and the beat goes on.
Surely there are -- one can only hope -- enough intelligent and caring Palestinians in Gaza to put an end to this madness that is Hamas. It is time for Palestinians too to rise up and get rid of Hamas in Gaza as did those Egyptians in Egypt who rose up to rid their country of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood.
