Some reports are predicting a drought in Central America will cause widespread food shortages. It makes sense. I wonder if our government is considering the possibility of thousands more "refugees" escaping deplorable conditions or the countries simply sending more minor to us to care for?

While we are watching Ferguson, Ms. and Iraq, the flow of illegals continues on the border. I know that we are a compassionate and generous people. However, we have to get real. We cannot over burden the system with an endless stream of refugees and expect to survive. We will do nobody a favor by going beyond our capabilities. The potential for epidemics and disease are very real. Those coming over the border are not bringing medical and immunization records with them. How does a school system know where to begin in order to protect our children. This is our country. We have rules. It is way past time to enforce them. Shirley Reynolds Englewood, FL
