Mineral royalties are a tax on the extraction of all carbon fuels – coal, oil or natural gas. These must be the carbon taxes you have when you don’t have a carbon tax? Naturally those attacking carbon fuels recognise a carbon tax when they see one, and are always happy to see these Claytons Carbon Taxes increased in scope or severity.
