Keeping Calm and Carrying On This Winter

With a thousand and one predicted disasters calling the attention of the average citizen, we live in confusing, turbulent times. If Ebola, terrorists or living in a country without borders doesn’t get you, something else will. It’s as if the leaders of some countries want the countries they were elected to serve wiped off the map, leaving the world’s largest bureaucracy called the United Nations to get on with their convenient One World Government.

Even though they swore to defend We the People on Bibles, including one that was carried by Abraham Lincoln, some career politicians of the current day secretly hope for the kind of chaos always delivered by anarchy; fervent wishes long nourished by the crazed far left. While they cannot spare votes by owning up to it, anarchy best suits their end goal. If the masses are off fighting each other, they’ll be too busy to fight the politicians ruining the economy and killing off what is left of individual rights. Mostly because hope springs eternal in the human heart, we keep hoping upon waking each morning that there will be good news to greet the new day. Surely somewhere, just waiting to make a debut on the world stage, is someone who can hold the barbarians at the gate at bay; someone who can set the upside-down world aright once again. The mainstream media dutifully reports the death of each and every celebrity, whether by natural cause, accident, drugs or their own hand, lionizing them the same way they do terrorists. While the Democrats make Hillary their inevitable replacement for Obama, presidential candidates from the other side are presented in the news like so many flavours of the month. The Republican Establishment are recycling proven losers as if we haven’t seen that, done that before, with everyone other than Karl Rove knowing which ever one that is moved forward will be automatically decimated by media smear. The news is ever more and more being manufactured instead of reported, and in cases like Ferguson--even exploited. John & Josephine Public, who just want to make a life for their children in peace, are being fired on nightly from their own televisions and computers as the competition for public attention among the networks makes trying to sort out what’s going on, a state of mass confusion.

Propaganda rides the fleetest horse on the Internet. Finding like-minded companionship online is dominated by spam that brings doubt and worry....Constant email messages like...”Your background information was just ordered by someone” make you groan in frustration. Messages from the eternally gullible like “Call your Congressman”, “Sign up for the White House Petition” don’t work anymore and never really did. “Obama’s going to be impeached” is a never-ending promise ever nosing its way to the dumpster, dashing all hope and optimism. There’s not much relief let alone hope when the question of the day is: ‘Who is worse Obama or Putin?’ Both are bad in their own individual ways. Most of us know by now that Justice for All will never come from any self-serving politician. While life on earth gets more complicated and busier with ordinary families just striving to stay together, politicians work to find creative new ways to exploit God’s Little Green Acres. They use God’s creation and the Bible with incredible ease in order to gain unbreakable control over the hapless masses. While you have to make time to bring in the money to pay the latest bills, the politicians’ army of researchers are looking for more ways to get your votes and and taxes. Global Warming/ Climate Change, as old as Mother Earth herself is their ticket to ride; the latest tactic to enrich themselves by categorizing Climate change as a health issue; an Al Gore mania that’s gone from the the sky-is-falling cry to “climate change is wrecking your health”, categorized that way to perfectly coincide with ObamaCare. While generations of young people graduate from public schools as global citizens, with no allegiance to either parents or patriotism; when millennials having learned through violent video games to have no regard for what is humane throw in their lot with the armies of ISIS; when worries that the meagre savings you thought were safe in the bank at bedtime may be gone by morning, the world has become a dizzying place that leaves its occupants standing upside-down on their heads. Another winter coming on with another Labour Day weekend in North America having just passed would be a prudent time to take stock of what may lie ahead. Back in 1939 when commonsense was still a recognizable concept, the British government came up with a motivational poster in preparation for World War 11. The Keep Calm and Carry On poster was intended to keep high the morale of the British public, threatened with widely predicted mass air attacks on major cities. Nothing’s changed. Finding the way out of our present-day miasma is the same way it was back then: Depend on yourself. Teach your children and grandchildren the same. It’s become more important than ever to make Situational Awareness part of your daily routine. Make the Creator and your family the center of your life. Get home before dark. We now live in a world where the current president of the USA has all but left a white flag outside the White House by which he’s telling the terrorists of ISIS, I have no plans or strategies to stop you. In other words, ‘Come and get us’. Leaving aside the growing worry that Obama’s in league with them, even the terrorists would know that the man called BHO is America’s most treacherous enemy. On Obama’s watch it’s been one setback after another. But many other threatening catastrophes have visited the world and yet people somehow made it through even though In past generations common sense was an inherent part of the human DNA. Wisdom is always far more endowed on the ordinary than it is on the despots. Don’t wait for any politician or news media talking head to save you and your family from any barbarians who would make good on their threats. “Keep calm and carry on”. Even with dire UN warnings about coming worldwide viruses and the Obama administration’s latest scare tactics about climate change ruining health, it is a given that this coming winter will end the same as the last one and all others--with Spring. Unfortunately Situational Awareness of the day includes that you are now walking through the swamp in an at-least-for-now post-Constitutional America. You need to know how to tell the difference between a rotting tree stump and a crocodile during a bound to be long, trying and sometimes downright frightening walk. You will stay in the light by remembering where your anchor is and always was. As for knowing who’s telling you the truth? “Ye shall know them by their fruits.” Matthew 7:16.
