Chris Matthews: Obama needs to stop pandering to ethnic groups

The Tea Party is racist. The phrase "food stamps" is a racist "dog whistle." Most opposition to Obama is fueled by deep seeded racism.
If you don't like ObamaCare, it's obviously because you're a racist. The GOP speaks in "racial code" These are all firmly held beliefs that rattle around inside the empty head of MSNBC wunderkind, Chris Matthews. To him, virtually every single criticism of the Obama administration is a glaring indication of racial bias and hatred. There is simply no way anyone could possibly disagree with this President, unless they despise his skin color. The claims are, obviously, ridiculous but don't tell Matthews that. They're the foundation of his shtick. In fact, he's made these accusations so often that people are compiling lists of his goofiest moments. He'll never stop because it's all he knows. However, he's wants President Obama to move on. According to Matthews, there's been no compromise on immigration reform because the President is "pandering" to ethnic groups in an effort to lock down their support. If the President wants to salvage his legacy, the talk show host says Obama needs to do something of which he himself is incapable: stop "pandering" and "playing" to ethnic groups. As the Washington Times reports:

"As long as we say you have to get papers to work in this country, it’ll work,” he said. “And nobody wants to say it. You know why? Because Republicans want the anti-immigrant vote and the Democrats want the pro-immigrant vote and the immigrant vote, but nobody wants a bill — a compromise. Somebody’s got to lead and say, ‘You know what? Game’s over. It’s time to get something done.’ “Why doesn’t the president say, instead of pandering to the Hispanic vote and liberals, why doesn’t he just say ‘You know what, I’m willing to strike a compromise. We need to get tough on illegal immigrants?’” Mr. Matthews continued. “The fact is, this president has the opportunity to put it together. But he needs to stop playing politics, stop running for office, stop playing the ethnic groups, and say, ‘Look, I’ve only got two years left. I have to get something done,’” he said.
This has simply got to be a joke. The network that airs Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, Toure, and - for God's sake - Al Sharpton, is warning the President to stop pandering to ethnic groups? Congratulations MSNBC, you've outdone yourself in the irony department.
