[The Muslim call to prayer] is
one of the prettiest sounds on earth. The future must not belong to those who
slander the Prophet of Islam. Islam has always been part of America -- Islam has
always been a part of America's story. --
Barack Hussein Obama, 44th President of the United States
Question: Which of the above does not belong? The answer of course is John Quincy Adams, who as we all know is the
only POTUS to marry a
foreign born woman.
But enough of the historical stuff --this article is about
current events; specifically the ongoing crisis with Ebola.
It appears to me that the Obama regime's "Theater of the Absurd" traveling snake-oil emporium has reached hitherto unexplored areas with their mishandling of the Ebola outbreak.
The Obama Administration has lowered the bar so significantly, so consistently, over such a wide area, that I suspect (and pray) their performance will never be duplicated --but in the case of the Ebola outbreak they have really outdone themselves. I would call their handling of the affair up to now criminally negligent --but that's just me.
Open Borders
In the phrase "illegal immigrants" emphasis should fall on the word
illegal, not
immigrants. The Obama regime has had it bassackwards from the get-go, going so far as to sue Arizona for wanting to
enforce federal immigration laws. Yes, you read that right. Back in 2010 the federal government
sued Arizona for trying to enforce federal law.
Apparently the Feds felt that it was
their prerogative to enforce, or not, depending on their mood, any federal law. If the Feds
wanted their laws enforced they would do it
themselves, thank you very much. It was around this time that any lingering doubts that the inmates are running the asylum left me for good.
I could of course go on and on about the debate surrounding illegal immigration and America's borders, but allow me to cut to the chase. Our southern border is a frigging sieve, and God only knows who crosses over into our states, and what communicable diseases, including Ebola, come across the border with them. (As far as the number of terrorists, scum-of-the earth, and other undesirables just waltzing on in...don't get me started).
The following is from a recent article in "
The Washington Times:"
Communicable diseases continue to be a problem at the New Mexico facility built to house illegal immigrant families surging across the U.S.-Mexico border.... Previous reports had detailed some of the difficulties of handling the surge, including the communicable diseases some brought...[and] investigators found "unfamiliarity" with bathrooms resulted in unsanitary conditions, including "exposure to human waste."
And the beat goes on.
Quarantine Regulations
Several months ago an article from "
Judicial Watch" noted that:
The hordes of illegal immigrant minors entering the U.S. are bringing serious diseases‚ including swine flu, dengue fever, possibly Ebola virus and tuberculosis‚ that present a danger to the American public as well as the Border Patrol agents forced to care for the kids, according to a U.S. Congressman [
Phil Gingrey] who is also medical doctor.
The article goes on to report that in a stinging letter to the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) Congressman Gingrey wrote:
As the unaccompanied children continue to be transported to shelters around the country on commercial airlines and other forms of transportation, I have serious concerns that the diseases carried by these children may begin to spread too rapidly to control. In fact, as you undoubtedly know, some of these diseases have no known cure.
Right around the time that the federal government was telling Arizona that it had no right to follow federal law, the Obama regime tossed out the
US quarantine regulations that were then in place. The ACLU was thrilled --me, not so much.
At this point there has been only one confirmed case of Ebola causing a death in the US (
Thomas Eric Duncan), although "
The Washington Examiner" reported last Friday that:
Secretary of
Health and Human Services Sylvia Burwell said that despite the best efforts of health officials, Americans have to prepare for the reality that there may be more cases of
Ebola in the United States. "We had one case and
I think there may be other cases, and
I think we have to recognize that as a nation," Burwell said.... [italics added]
Well
I think that Ms. Burwell is full of more c--p than a Thanksgiving turkey. They know darn well more cases of Ebola are coming our way. (You'll forgive me for being a bit
testy when it comes to our government "representatives").
The CDC has been somewhat...
fuzzy regarding their position(s) on how Ebola spreads. Their answers run from "
Ebola only spreads by direct contact with someone who's sick," to "
being in the same room."
Soo...Ebola is only spread by direct contact, unless you happen to be breathing the same air as someone who is infected? Gotcha, no worries.
In fairness to the CDC we are dealing with variations on a theme --that is,
various sub-types or
strains of Ebola, and unexpected mutations can and do happen.
[Sidebar:
Bio-engineering and so called "
designer viruses" are not something I will be discussing in this article, but when I researched my articles on H1N1 back in 2009 I read up a bit on the subject and it was an eye-opener for sure.]
The UN's WHO (World Health Organization) has been strangely muted in their response to the Ebola outbreak so far. I'm comparing it to their response to the H1N1 (Swine Flu) outbreak in 2009, during which they pretty much announced
TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It)!
Everyone was going to have to get vaccinated, with the richer nations having to chip in to pay for the poorer nation's vaccines. The title from
an article published at the time put it like this:
Swine flu could kill millions: UN report says pandemic may result in anarchy unless western world pays for antiviral drugs and vaccines
Yikes! Yet as we know, TEOTWAWKI didn't happen, and we all stayed calm and carried on. God knows the pharmaceutical companies were happy campers though --they pocketed
beaucoup bucks from
that gig.
In any event, the
relative calm of WHO during this Ebola outbreak puzzles me -- their "meh, whatever" attitude contrasts sharply with their Oscar-worthy performance of 2009. Go figure.
Conclusion
"Airline Stocks Tumbling After News Hospital Worker With Ebola Flew On Commercial Flight" read the headline in
a recent article. If things keep going the way they are, how long do you suppose it will be until airline passenger service all but shuts down?
A friend sent me a
radio broadcast of a man claiming that his daughter's fiancé sat next to a man on a flight from San Francisco to Tampa last Friday, and that the man (who reportedly was an African who didn't speak English) was feverish and vomited on himself and other passengers. According to the broadcast, the sick man was allowed to exit the plane upon landing, and disappeared into Tampa.
That plane's next stop was Jacksonville, Florida, where oddly enough there is a patient currently being tested for Ebola. "The patient reportedly had contact with a traveler from West Africa," says
an article from CBS/AP
.
I cannot vouch for the veracity of the story about the flight to Tampa, and it may very well turn out that the passenger is
not infected with Ebola, nor is the patient in Jacksonville. It is all hearsay and conjecture at this point.
Still, given the fact that an Ebola-infected nurse was allowed to fly round trip to Cleveland, Ohio, from Dallas, Texas, and back on a commercial airline, leaves one to wonder about the rather lackadaisical attitude shown toward the Ebola outbreak by the Obama regime so far. How bad is it, really?
Who did that nurse come in contact with while she was in Cleveland? How about the passengers on the planes she flew in --are they at risk? If the answer is no, how do we know that? Who are the people that all those passengers have now come in contact with --are they not at risk? How do we know?
There are a number of questions that "we the people" deserve some answers to. "
The Washington Post" posed one of them, regarding the other health care workers who came into close proximity or contact with the late Mr. Duncan:
Still, the fact that she [the nurse] boarded a commercial flight raises the question of how much the other 50 health-care workers who entered Duncan's room could have traveled or moved around in recent days.
How much indeed. We are not being told squat --just fed bromides and pablum and misdirection.
As I say--criminal negligence. Some "October Surprise," huh?
