The naysayers want women earning and paying their own way.
Fine, but what does that assume? Will you marry me and live in the crawlspace if I earn more than you do? Will you eat pork offcuts while I scarf down lobster? Will you pay for your own clothes while nursing our babies, fund your own groceries as you cook for the kids? Will you if sick or old depend throughout the marriage only on yourself and never expect help from me, and I never have to help you?
Income splitting assumes, by contrast, that couples that share a home are equal partners. To not assume that is the real social engineering, out of touch with reality
