I feel like I have taken my first deep breath in six years.
Now with both the House and Senate firmly in Republican hands Congress can finally get things done – Harry Reid will no longer be sitting on the hundreds of bills passed by the House and submitted to the Senate.
He never deigned to even bring them up for a Senate vote – just sat on them. And Democrats have to gall to call Republicans obstructionists -- the “do nothing” party. At least when Obama vetoes those bills and others, liberals will no longer be able to deny who the true obstructionist is. (Well…I take that back, they’ll deny it anyway, won’t they)?
Mary Landreau’s leftist go-to gambit of calling those who didn’t support her, sexist racists, failed to gin up sufficient outrage among her fellow Louisianans – at least it was not enough to give her the victory she sought. Perhaps we can at long last put those particular canards to rest. (For the record, I wouldn’t care if Obama were porcelain white or green with pink polka dots, he would still be the worst POTUS ever – and that’s not a racist comment, that’s simply the truth IMO).
I could go on at length about the state governorships won by Republicans, and the new influx of Republicans into the House, and other related matters, but I simply wanted to comment on how relieved I am that America is now positioned to start the hard work of getting this country back on track. I know it is a sentiment shared by many of you.
