In the months, weeks, days, hours, and even minutes leading up to last night's epic Republican win, Democrats and left wing pundits were united in their message. There was not going to be any sort of "wave" election. The GOP was a dead party, Obama was our beloved leader, and his "signature law" was so popular that it would carry the Dems to a huge midterm win.
Then they were crushed like a bunch of rotten apples under a car tire.
