Don't worry, Democrats. Nancy Pelosi is pretty sure there was no midterm wave

When we last heard from the totally-not-crazy Nancy Pelosi, she was predicting that "Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if Republicans win the Senate." Then, Nancy's worst fears came true. We're sure you're aware of this, because the world fell apart last Tuesday and you probably spent the last week scrounging for food in our GOP-created post-apocalyptic wasteland.

It's so terrifying out there that Ms. Pelosi has decided that - rather than face the reality of the wasteland - she's simply going to pretend the Republican wave didn't happen. As the Politico reports:
“I do not believe what happened the other night is a wave,” Pelosi said in her first sit-down interview since Democrats lost a dozen House seats to Republicans on Nov. 4. “There was no wave of approval for the Republicans. I wish them congratulations, they won the election, but there was no wave of approval for anybody. There was an ebbing, an ebb tide, for us.”
"An ebb tide." That's all it was. According to Pelosi, people still despise Republicans, and nobody wants them to be in charge of the nation's future. Hmmmm.... Don't worry, Democrats. Nancy Pelosi is pretty sure there was no midterm wave. Pelosi also claims that, despite all the polling to the contrary, Democrat policies like ObamaCare, Amnesty for illegals, and IRS persecution are still very popular. People know that she and her congressional cohorts are right on the issues, so this was just a minor setback. Still, voters chose the wrong party last week and there have to be consequences. Pelosi has chosen your punishment and it is indeed unpleasant. You're getting more Pelosi.
As for whether she would consider stepping down as minority leader, Pelosi said she’s needed now more than ever. “Quite frankly, if we would have won, I would have thought about leaving,” Pelosi declared, a remark that will likely surprise both admirers and detractors. "....It’s always time for fresh leadership, but my members have asked me to stay,” she said. “If they want me to stay, I stay. If they don’t want me to stay, I won’t stay.”
I'm going to go ahead and say that the non-existent GOP wave was worth being forced to deal with a few more years of Nancy's madness. ....But it's not an easy call to make.
