Was Olivia Chow the victim of front-runners' curse? No. Chow was a victim of strategic voting.

Her supporters moved over to John Tory in order to defeat Rob Ford, and when Ford pulled out of the Mayoral race because of illness, Chow's people would have returned to the NDP fold but Rob's brother Doug looked like a winner so they stayed put. Don't feel sorry for Chow, though, she will be re-elected to her old Federal seat next spring. By the way, was the recent election the first time the Globe & Mail, Toronto Star and the Sun all supported the same candidate for Mayor? William Bedford
