In case you didn't know, yesterday was my birthday. I've now had 48 of those, Now, since my birthday is November 17, I've never before spent one in the midst of a massive winter snowstorm - even though I live in Michigan. We have long, cold winters, but they don't start this early with this kind of intensity.
Or at least they never did before now. This year is different, and in more ways than one. I see this morning that Lake Superior is already beginning to freeze, weeks earlier than it normally does. That is partly because the severe cold has come so early this year, but it's also because it was so relentless last winter, and Lake Superior's temperatures never really rose to their normal (albeit still frigid) levels during the summer.
Anyway, I just spent more than an hour shoveling my driveway. On November 18. My 14-year-old son, who has a snow day on November 18, is sleeping in. I suppose I could have made him get up to help me, but what can I say? I'm a nice guy. I let him sleep. Might as well let someone get something positive out of this B.S. Besides, noting well the fact that I just turned a youthful 48, I am in good shape and I can handle this. My concern is for the scrawny liberal wimps who might strain themselves trying to move all that wet, heavy snow - and there is a lot of it, on November 18.
Now, let me move to the politics of this. Specifically, let me assign blame. This weather is the fault of Barack Obama. He is to blame. Why? Simple logic. If George W. Bush is responsible for "global warming" as liberals have been claiming for years now, then the same logic applies in reverse. Obama is to blame for this freaking mid-November cold and snow.
Consider: The global warmists, in their hubris, are convinced that they know exactly what will happen over the course of the next century in terms of global temperature rises, and they've been beating up on manufacturers to reduce carbon emissions to try to "stop global warming."
Now consider: We all know that liberals and global warmists and routinely wrong about their predictions. What if their wild-# guess with respect to global temperatures was way off? What if they convinced all these manufacturers to reduce their carbon emissions and, in the process, moved the needle way too far in the other direction? What if we're getting this mid-November blizzard as a result?
Thanks a lot, Democrats, for the freaking foot of snow I just cleared off my driveway on November 18! It's all your fault. Nice job. Idiots. Jerks.
We need to reverse this. American manufacturers, start pumping that carbon into the air. Double it. Triple it. Do whatever you have to do.
I know, I know, "weather is not climate." Know what? Lake Superior freezing in November isn't weather. It's climate! And liberals can quit messing with it.
So yeah. If Bush is responsible for global warming, then Obama is responsible for this nonsense. By the way, so is Hillary Clinton. Because I say so. Solution: Bring back summer by bringing back Bush.
Oh, and Dick Cheney too.
