Here are some things that did not work for Senator Mary Landrieu to get her re-elected:
- Thinking voters would forget that she reneged on voting to kill the death tax.
- Telling black voters she would vote with President Obama 97 percent of the time. More and more black voters are waking up to Obama’s failed policies.
- Insinuating the race card. She was losing because Obama is black, she claimed, but finally accepted his endorsement in desperation near the end of the run-off.
- Insulting voters. Telling voters ObamaCare is better than what we had and just needs fixing. Voters ain't stupid.
- Attacking her victorious opponent, Dr. Bill Cassidy, as not being fit for the job. What!
- Expecting outside campaign funds to help support her campaign of deception. The national Democrat Party pulled funding because they saw it as a lost cause.
Senator Landrieu criticized Congressman Cassidy for criticizing her lock-step support of President Obama, saying he would not have anything else to talk about. Oh yes he would! Let's start with the administration's scandals, cover-ups, failed economic policies, runaway national debt, and of course, an imploding ObamaCare law that only Democrats voted for.
Granted, Cassidy did not have a well-known record of achievements as a congressman, but he also did not have major blemishes, which Landrieu would have certainly tried to exploit.
Republicans! The table is set with 54 seats in the Senate and 246 seats in the House. Expectations are high, and they may even be too high because of the way "sausage is made" in Washington, D.C. Voters who awarded you this opportunity are also impatient.
As a result, Republicans, you do not have to solve all of the challenges facing the nation in the next two years with a Democrat president who is defiant and has shown
no real inclination to work with Republicans. But it is expected that you will solve a few of them, and show major progress on many of them.
Congratulations, Senator-elect Bill Cassidy! Keep telling the truth and you will continue to win in the future.
