'AMERICA F*** YEAH!'

Texas theater offering free screening of 'Team America' in place of 'The Interview'

Sony pictures may have caved in the war between North Korea and the Seth Rogan/James Franco movie "The Interview," but that doesn't mean that you have to. If you live in Texas, you have options. The Alamo Drafthouse movie theater in Dallas/Fort Worth has decided to replace the now-pulled film with a big middle finger aimed squarely at the Norks. Since they can't run "The Interview," they'll be showing the gloriously offensive "Team America World Police."
In case you haven't seen it, Team America features a cast of puppets. Kim Jong Un's father, Kim Jong Il, serves as the central villain. Though he's a "rittle ronery," he executes his nefarious schemes with the help of an army of Hollywood leftists including George Clooney, Helen Hunt, Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Michael Moore, Matt Damon, and the 'worthless' Alec Baldwin. ...All of whom die in horrible, horrible, ways. The best part? Freedom may cost a buck-o-five, but the Drafthouse is showing Team America for the low, low, price of zero dollars. From their Facebook page:
For the record, our plan was to still show The Interview. ...Unfortunately these decisions aren't always ours to make. But in light of these recent events, we only have one thing to say: "AMERICA F*** YEAH!"

Join us for a special showing of the TEAM AMERICA QUOTE-ALONG Saturday, December 27 at 7:00p. This show is FREE, because you can't spell "FREEDOM" without "FREE."
The Alamo Drafthouse is famous for its high concept limited edition movie posters, unique screenings, and generally doing a lot of cool stuff that cinephiles love. The Team America screening is no exception. It's being billed as a Quote-along, and audience participation is encouraged.
We'll have subtitles for all the songs and all of our favorite quotes, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to scream out "AMERICA! F*** YEAH!" at the top of your lungs.
If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and would like to attend, you can head over to the Alamo Drafthouse to reserve an advance ticket by purchasing a $4.00 voucher for popcorn. If you don't live in the Lone Star State, you can still join in the fun from the comfort of your own home. Lots of folks are planning to watch the film via Netflix as a way of showing their support.
