Life should not be this complicated

Over stressed and frustrated

As we approach the Christmas Season, there are added pressures on our time and our pocketbook. We can be over stressed and frustrated. The thing I'm beginning to realize is that long before Thanksgiving I was spending far too much time on things over which I have zero control but that can cripple me financially and mentally.

For example, I've had to, on two occasions, deal with FPL scammers who are very threatening. I had to stop, call FPL, make certain there wasn't a problem, then tell the scammer to -- well, you know. On three occasions in the past 12 months, I've had people steal my credit card info. Again, much time and angst because of thieves. There were two the recalls on our autos. Then there is the 2 phone calls to a "Drug Plan" provider -- wrong number on their ad, lost when transferred, computer crashed after taking all the information, final result-too expensive. Then the sixth (yes, 6 times) trip to a local pharmacy to pick up a prescription, only to find out when I got home I was shorted by about 25%. Plenty of blame to go around on that one. The Doctor somehow placed the order with 2 different pharmacies, one kept telling me different stories -- it's too early to refill, we don't have enough, it will be in Tues. On the 5th visit they said it had been filled at another pharmacy. My point is that for many Americans, simply dealing with the complex systems and incompetent service is overwhelming. Life should not be this complicated. Jennie Veary Englewood, FL
