Sony pictures and the American public

Where will it end? Are we destined in the future to have only sanitized, watered down and politically correct movies, television and music? Will our entertainment be subject to scrutiny by all sorts of groups and the international community? There are plenty of songs, movies and TV shows that offend or irritate me. I exercise my power to turn them off.

What is being done to Sony pictures and the American public is terrorism. And we are encouraging more of it when we cave to the threats. "The Interview" is not a movie I would choose to see. That doesn't mean other people feel the same way. And it certainly doesn't give me the right to blackmail the producers. Has it occurred to anyone that this is effectively censorship? We will be only allowed to view things which meet the approval of the international community. Anyone of them can prevent release of a movie, TV show or piece of music by simply threatening to hurt people. If I was a Hollywood producer, I wouldn't dare sink money into another venture. The American public needs to think long and hard about the ramifications of all of this. It isn't (pardon the pun) a pretty picture. Wayne A. White
