A race apart

"Police officers turned their backs on Mayor Bill de Blasio as he walked into the police press conference about the two NYPD officers" "Florida officer killed in weekend's third police shooting" "Tarpon Springs Police identify officer shot, killed Sunday morning"
"A second homicide on NYPD officers was narrowly avoided early Sunday when a gunman's weapon jammed as he took aim at two cops outside a Bronx housing project, sources said. Investigators grabbed the wannabe cop killer after he dropped his gun..." (Grumpy Opinions 12/21/2014) (It should be noted the assailant was taken into custody without shots fired by the officers.) (my emphasis) Al Sharpton may be getting what he's wanted: a race war. I don't remember when I've seen so many assaults on police officers in such a short period of time. I understand when people say they never remember so many: child molesters, child abductions, brutal murder/suicides, suicides, school-shooters etc., etc. etc. (select one or add more). The fact is they happen every day in America; a land of over 300 million souls. It's seen as unimportant until the media feels it's capable of generating enough advertising sales dollars to make note of at any given moment. If it doesn't create the necessary prurient interest of a jaded and cynical people seeking something else to feel superior to. Maybe they can gin up enough controversy to sell more advertising both print and digital media. Such has been the case with Ferguson, St. Louis, Tarpon Springs and New York. When Michael Brown was killed by an officer after he started charging the officer post fistfight, the sensationalism and purely left-wing capitalism banking on the demolition of specialized societal protectors, it was presented the police were wrong because partisan, prejudiced elements started lying about what happened. So be it. That's the way bigots and racists work. Start the lie. Repeat the lie. Hate. Demonize and destroy. That's the way bigots and racists like Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakhan and others of their ilk display their particular brands of xenophobia and intolerance. The only problem is these remora--suckerfish-- display their outrage for hire and suck the savings out of unwitting donors they prey upon.

The people feel marginalized, segregated from the bounty this nation shares with all but them. They feel ostracized for the fact they have a different culture and they do things differently than other people. The people feel as though their treated as something scurrilous and unclean because they simply are who and what they are in the eyes of other citizens; others that don't know or understand the challenges they go through and suffer as a result of being no more than what and who they are. This is the blight of bigotry and hatred for no other reason than they dress differently and behave with a dignity seemingly only recognized by others such as they are. This is racism, the belief that people of different races have different qualities and abilities, and that some races are inherently superior or inferior. It is a closed circuit of ignorance and witlessness for people to separate and castigate and hate people simply because they are who and what they are. Stupidity feeds anger, anger feeds pain, pain feeds rage and rage gives birth to violence. Violence damages all it touches. Mike Brown was a thug. The video evidence is out there. Eric Garner was a large man that resisted arrest. In Brown's case it was his efforts to charge an armed cop he'd already assaulted. Eric Garner was a large, out of shape, grossly obese individual who put himself in a high stress situation and died of complications during his arrest and his own poor health. The black child shot was approaching an officer with a "look-alike" toy gun. The officer shot him and it's been ruled a homicide by the resident Coroner. All of this action involved police officers. Every place you go as an officer there is anger and hatred and distrust and senseless violence of someone against another. But of these who were killed there's another side of the story. It's a story involving 113 sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles, fathers and mothers killed to date in America. They were assaulted from ambush by people they didn't know. They were killed violently by people they didn't do anything to. Forty-six were shot down, 25 were killed in auto accidents trying to prevent violence toward a stranger, 15 suffered heart attacks while stressed beyond their physical limits by circumstances as individuals (much like Eric Garner), 10 died by vehicular assaults (they were struck and killed by assailants armed with a motor vehicle) 1 was drowned, 1 died in a fire. Then there were the 3 killed in motorcycle accidents and 5 were killed chasing assailants of other innocents. Every one of the aforementioned deaths was a police officer killed in defense of others. Every one of these officers was killed with the racial bigotry displayed towards them by others who hated them for no other reason than the way they dressed and the places they walked and worked. Their presence in communities earned them distrust and hatred and animosity and a vile disgust because the people they are and were walked in the shadows to cast a light allowing the innocent and the weak to walk safely in that uncertain realm. These officers are the ones described above in paragraph five: the marginalized... the scurrilous and ostracized... cut adrift from society and forced to live in communities of their brothers and sisters away from those who would insult and taunt them for no other reason than they are COPS. Blacks insult black officers as turncoats and Uncle Toms. Koreans distrust Korean Officers and Chinese and Vietnamese Officers are taunted by the thugs in their own communities. These good people wanting to do no more than help the weak and guard the innocent deserve better than what they get. But they, too feel themselves a race apart. But through all of this, race baiters like Sharpton and Eric Holder and Barack Obama who after castigating and prejudging ALL police officers as racists and bigots now have the god almighty gall to stand and say nobody should: "link the criminal insanity of a lone gunman to the peaceful protests and aspirations of many people across the country, including the attorney general, the mayor and even the president, is simply not fair." -- NAACP President Cornell William Brooks said on CBS's "Face the Nation." I must have missed the part where the "peaceful protests and aspirations of many people across the country" were being improperly mistaken for people throwing Molotov Cocktails and rocks and punching policemen in the streets. I must have been blinded by the thugs looting and burning business serving the black community in Ferguson. I must have been hallucinating when Jackson was run out of a church because he was money hustling rather than "representing" the people. I must have been in the wrong room when Sharpton was making demands and issuing orders and calling people names when, before the Brown incident, was oblivious to just where in Sam Hill Ferguson Missouri was. NOW, we have a demand and a plea for sanity from the race baiters. Let's not forget NAACP President Brooks succeeded Ben Justice, who harangued black audiences with lies about lynching "Barack Hussein Obama" while trying to suck money from the prejudiced masses noted for wanting equality but getting videotaped with rhetoric meant to inflame passions and foment violence. Sharpton is scared because his lapdog de Blasio isn't being fawned over and is held in open contempt by those that have the weaponry and the training keeping them safe. These slugs' greatest fear isn't that the police will rise up and assault them in their ivory towers. They fear the point those same protectors may not appear to save them when the same people whose eyes they're pulling the wool over will rise up and take them down like the masses attacking the Bastille. Sharpton's bodyguards are as loyal as their last paycheck makes them and de Blasio's personal protection squad comes from the NYPD. I did thirty years as a cop. I've been beat, punched, stomped, kicked and cut with knives. I've been shot at and missed and shot at and hit. I've totaled relationships and lost more than I can ever explain, but I got up and went back to work because in spite of everything I'd gone through; I knew and know society needs warriors to stand against the wicked and the unjust and those who just won't do right. People must be guarded from the wolves like the sheep they appear to be. I end with this from Colonel Dave Grossman of the Killology Research Group: ..."I mean nothing negative by calling them sheep. To me it is like the pretty blue robin's egg. Inside it is soft and gooey but someday it will grow into something wonderful. But the egg cannot survive without the hard blue shell, and someday the civilization they protect will grow into something wonderful. For now though, they need warriors to protect them from the predators." "Then there are the wolves", the old war veteran said, "and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy." Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You'd better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial." "Then there are the sheepdogs," he went on, "and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf." Or, as a sign in one California law enforcement agency put it; "We intimidate those who intimidate others." Heed well this warning: Those who guard the herd and keep safe the flock will be driven away if you beat that which protects you. How well set are you to protect yourself and what you hold dear against those who band together like a wolf pack to forage for survival? You need to start listening.
