Rev. Michael Fronk, the pastor of the First Christian Church in Pomona, Ca, is the president of the Inland Empire Sponsoring Committee (IESC). According to the latest investigative report from the Lepanto Institute, Fronk has a standing policy posting on his church’s website to conduct weddings for both heterosexual and homosexual couples. “It’s abominable for the Catholic Church to be funding an organization whose president is performing same-sex marriages,” said Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute. “I sure hope Bishop Soto takes swift action against this group.” In 2012, Bishop Jamie Soto, the current chairman of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, revoked funding from the Francis House because its new director performed same-sex marriages and promoted abortion on demand. Even though the director of Francis House said she did this on her own time, and away from Francis House activities, Bishop Soto maintained his position against funding the organization. “The Church cannot afford to fund Her ideological enemies,” said Hichborn. “Would the CCHD fund an organization whose president performed abortions or led rallies for the Ku Klux Klan? I think this is a serious question they need to address.” The profile on IESC can be found on the Lepanto Institute’s website.
