A glaring weakness in our system of government is the prime minister has to pick his whole cabinet from the ranks of elected MPs, even when some of them, like Julian Fantino, are unqualified, for their posts.
I suggest we change the current rules and allow the PM to pick up to a third of his cabinet from unelected people who are qualified for certain cabinet positions, and are willing to serve.
