Rich vs. Poor

I don't know who will eventually win the party nominations for the 2016 Presidential fiasco and money pit. What I do know is that the central debate will be rich vs. poor.

In reality, the debate is about the vision and role of government. Setting aside the sick and disabled whom everyone can agree to helping, the liberals believe that it is government's job to provide for the folks who are down on their luck for any reason whatsoever. Conservatives believe it is government's job to provide the opportunity to succeed. There is so much involved in the different philosophies. Do you believe that people should not struggle? Or do you believe that struggle gives people confidence, pride and character? Do you believe that providing for the less fortunate is a doing them a favor? Do you believe that a thriving economy is the solution to unemployment which is at the root of most poverty or do you believe that the best solution is tax payer funded jobs and government subsidizes? We have a national bias against success. And that bias will most certainly play a big role in the next election. Arnold Avery Englewood, FL
