It was horrible when Dems were in charge, but now....

In 2013 Debbie Wasserman Schultz vowed "to end obstructionism." Now she seems to love it!

Ever since her party's embarrassing, utterly-predictable, and yet somehow unforeseen trouncing in the midterms, Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been MIA. We assume the Dems had her squirreled away somewhere, desperately hoping that they could keep her from embarrassing herself while she went through the five stages of electoral grief.

Last night, they let her out of confinement and - almost instantaneously - she managed to once again prove her utter incompetence. According to Debbie Wasserman Schultz, all of that evil obstructionism that she's been carping about for the last five years is now a big part of the Democrats' strategy. Going forward, you can expect to see obstructionist Dems employ all of the tactics that Wasserman Schultz used to rail against. ...And she seems pretty excited about it. Appearing on MSNBC, she was asked if Senate Democrats would "be using the filibuster as aggressively as Republicans did?" She replied:
Well, if past is prologue, then I think yes, very likely they will be. The obstruction that has been the hallmark of this Republican Congress in the House I think will now be adopted by the Senate. And, look, just the opening bell since the new Congress began saw more repeals or huge modifications by the Republicans to the Affordable Care Act to take health care away from people. That they've made sure that they try to roll back the president's immigration policy so that we can kick more immigrants out of the country. This is not a signal that they're ready to sit down and bond and work together. And then to add insult to injury, they choose Joni Ernst to be the response for the State of the Union. This is a woman who decided that the best thing to do for education is to repeal the federal student loan program and opposes pell grants. College can't be paid for with a winning smile.
First, about that "winning smile" comment. Ernst is Iowa's first female Senator and the first female combat veteran ever to serve in the Senate. If a Republican tried to diminish her accomplishments by reducing her to "a winning smile," every Democrat in America would be branding them a sexist pig and Wasserman Schultz would be yammering on about it for weeks. More importantly, Wasserman Schultz is saying that she and her party are now embracing exactly the tactics which she has previously labeled "disgusting and unconscionable." In fact, back in 2013, she wrote an op-ed for the Huffington Post in which she said....
....in the wake of the Boston Marathon attacks; the tornado in Moore, Oklahoma -- Americans were determined to recover and become even stronger than before. I wish that I could say that I observed that same mentality in Congress over the last year. But, unfortunately, obstructionism was still the name of the game in Washington, D.C. The Republican Party’s government shutdown that lasted 16 days and cost the economy $24 billion offered a clear illustration of the dysfunction in Washington. But it doesn't have to be that way. All of this brings me to my new years' resolution -- a pledge that I hope my colleagues in Congress and every voting American will consider. In 2014, let's resolve to end obstructionism and push for a more constructive dialogue with each other. Let's look for answers to our tough challenges. Let's talk to one another and try to find common ground, even when it seems difficult.
So, in other words, obstruction was a terrible affront to Debbie Wasserman Schultz's delicate sensibilities back when her party was in charge of the Senate. Now that they're in the minority, it's a strategy she's embracing, announcing, and is eager to employ. America sent the Democrat party a clear message last November. Once again, we see that not only is the DNC chairwoman a complete hypocrite, she's completely willing to deny political reality. Oh, by the way, "Republican Obstructionism" used to be one of the epically wrong reasons Debbie Wasserman Schultz cited when she claimed that Dems were going to prevail in the 2014 midterms.
