When President Barack Obama addresses students at the University of Kansas later today, he’ll likely tell them he’s one of them.
Last night’s presidential sleep was a “King Bed Executive” room at the Holiday Inn, which goes for $94.55. The hotel, which sold out last night, had been security checked with bomb-sniffing dogs and police hours before Obama’s arrival.
Upon his arrival in Kansas, Obama reminded folks “I have roots here”. An obvious reference to his late mother.
Earlier on Wednesday Obama was at Boise State University's Micron Engineering Center. Obama finishes his trip with a speech at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, this morning before winging back home this afternoon.
The meaning of Dorothy’s words in the 1939 film Wizard of Oz, “Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore” have never rung quite as true. In fact, millions of Americans now under the Fundamental Transformation of America could easily add: “We’re not in the United States anymore”.
