Veterans have to deal with malevolent creativity of idiocrats, disrespectful comments about their mental health from “experts”, offensive comments from Hollywood

Evilution of Veterans’ Rights

It’s not a mystery that the general atmosphere of shameful treatment of our Veterans prevails. We are living in an epoch where national evolution become evilution, military service is rewarded with homelessness, combat injuries with an eternity in VA’s bureaucratic hell.
As if it wasn’t enough, Veterans have to deal with malevolent creativity of idiocrats, disrespectful comments about their mental health from “experts” who have never put their lives in danger and offensive comments from Hollywood’s bouquet of daisies.

Idiocracy

Did you think that being on hold for more than a year to have your benefits approved was ridiculous? Do you consider that waiting months for an urgent medical appointment in a horrific VA “facility” is nonsensical? Oh, come on! Be happy that VA didn’t ask you to repay your “mistaken” pension benefits (plus interest) and that IRS didn’t kill you. It seems there is a new trend in VA: demanding that Veterans or widows of our heroes give back pension benefits “overpaid” for years. If incompetent bureaucrats were to take financial responsibility for aberrations they’ve created, they wouldn’t be able to treat Veterans as a “deposit bank”.

A honorable WW II Veteran from Ohio has to fight again, this time to prove to IRS that he is alive so they make him a “favour” of processing his tax return …Saluting you Sir, you have paid your taxes to this country a long time ago.

We hear voices, they don’t like you.

Political speeches ooze with “military and veterans’ mental health issues”. PTSD is a normal reaction to an abnormal event/series of events but the truth became overexposed to contaminants of relentless propaganda. The government seems ready to spend money on costly research and eager to play with nano-chips, but blatantly neglects Veterans’ basic human rights. How therapeutic is homelessness and joblessness? Trauma of surviving in harrowing, torturous conditions can by itself cause PTSD; our homeless heroes are at much higher risk for premature death and chronic health problems than the general population. Post-combat trauma is as ancient as war and the warriors; the only unprecedented factor is inhuman treatment of our own defenders. What’s needed is emergency humanitarian relief for our homeless Veterans who are struggling to survive the unnatural national catastrophe.

Wuss and Wusser

Freedom of speech works in mysterious ways these days. Asking legitimate questions can land a Veteran in hot water, a military hero can learn the hard way that his views are “inconsistent with t h e values”. During a county board meeting in Tennessee, our 76-year-old, “potentially dangerous” Veteran dared to ask the board to speak louder. He was arrested for disrupting a public meeting. Meanwhile, the most ludicrous statements offending our Veterans seem to fit in the scope of political correctness. The funny thing is that authors of pseudo-intellectual hateful tirades against our Military are usually the comfortably “pacifistic” individuals, whose only occupational hazard is getting haemorrhoids. Starving for attention Michael Moore informed the world that: “My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse”. One more time Mr.Moore seems to be confused and unable to make a difference between our soldiers and the enemy. After watching 'American Sniper', Seth Rogen had Nazi propaganda hot flashes and the shriek-master Howard Dean came up with Tea Party lurking from the screen. Since the left is constantly “worrying” about the soundness of our Veterans, how about mental health assessment of their own camp? John and Ken, not the brightest crayons in KFI AM 640's box, seemed to have a lot of sick fun reporting the death penalty execution of Andrew Brannan who was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran. Since Mr.Brannan had been diagnosed with PTSD, John and Ken joked about “Vietnam vet excuse”. Let’s not forget that the duo had been previously suspended after making some disgusting comments on Whitney Houston’s death. Maybe the News Director Mr.Chris Little should send this “funny pair” to experience a real documentary in Iraq or Syria; they’d certainly have an opportunity to learn some respect for human life and those who defend us. History taught us that sometimes political winds shift in an ugly direction. Humanity re-thinks, compares, judges. Tough times bring reflection, better understanding and respect for our national values and treasures. What kind of changes will we seek? What kind of officials will we elect? One thing is for sure: since our Military built the very fabric of our freedom, we need a leader who (for a change) for a change) will stand with our Veterans.
