New Orleans: Operation Wild Wild East is welcome good news- kudos to all involved!

Kudos Operation Wild, Wild East!.

As a hostage resisting street crime, I greet felon round ups like, ” Operation Wild, Wild East “ as equivalent to the famed March On Washington. Under-policed communities awash with undisciplined thugs resemble Croatia or Iraq far more than American locales presumably under the rule of law.

New Orleans east, or ” the East, ” in local slang, has suffered the lethal one-two punch of too many violent drug dealers and not enough cops. I take particular pleasure in Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizaro’s zeal in prosecuting life long threats to society. I am also comforted by the growing role of US Attorney Kenneth Polite as someone from such a besieged area and brings unique insight to federal prosecution. Unsung heroes include the US Marshals Service, whose large, quiet role in local fugitive apprehension is well worth applause were it their custom to trumpet considerable contributions. The State Police are a reassuring presence whose assertiveness is felt throughout the entire city- not just the embattled French Quarter. The Orleans Parish Sheriffs Office deserves appreciation for having to supervise dangerous people arrested in these sweeps. Their unarmed correctional officers manage thugs it took heavily armed cops to capture. Last, but never least, is the rank-and-file New Orleans police officer who participated in this civil rights march while burdened by well publicized retention issues. Operation Wild Wild East is welcome good news- kudos to all involved!
