The Brian Williams Untruth

Brian Williams lied. It turns out he was not on a helicopter that was hit in Iraq. He was not caught in a war scenario, and if he had been, he probably would have soiled his pants, and cried big giant pacifist tears. He's not the first to make such false claims, and he won't be the last.

I was in the United States Navy, saw a few interesting things, but when asked about my service, I usually say "it was inconsequential." It was, in my opinion. I know many heroes that saw action that I could not even begin to imagine. I will let those heroes tell their own stories. Other tales, ones that are fabricated about harrowing experiences like Brian Williams uttered, are usually spewed by folks in an attempt to make themselves look better, or seem braver than they really are. I just don't play that game. In the case of Williams, however, who is a well-known reporter, and a successful newsman. . . it just seems strange that he would embellish his activities to make himself look better. I can see some bootcamp flunky trying to lie his way into popularity by telling folks he's been in battle, but for Brian Williams to do it, it just seems strange. I have purposely not talked about the Brian Williams story in my writings, or on my radio program, because to me it has been an "nothing story." Who cares? Holy Crap, a liberal member of the liberal media lied! As if that never happens. But, last night, while having dinner after my Corona Constitution Class, the eating establishment had CNN on a television looking down at me from the corner of the room, and Anderson Cooper was talking about how Brian Williams has been suspended for six months without pay for his untruthful verbal antics. I just had to pay attention. Really? He was suspended? Without pay? I told my dinner companion that I didn't think Williams was suspended for lying, but for getting caught, because refusing to tell the truth is normal procedure in the mainstream liberal media. Just ask Sharyl Attkisson.
