DHS Secretary warns: terrorists want to attack malls, so 'be careful' when you go shopping

This weekend, an Al Qaeda affiliated terrorist group called "al Shabab" released a video calling for attacks on shopping malls inside the United States. Specifically, they used video of Minnesota's Mall of America to make their point. The next morning, like clockwork, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson made the Sunday morning news show rounds to discuss the new threat.
...Or least that was his pretense. In reality, he was there to demand those evil Republicans drop their crusade against Obama's illegal amnesty plans and fund his department. Ignore the fact that, aside from amnesty implementation, the GOP wants to completely fund DHS. Forget about the fact that a federal judge has already declared Obama's executive actions unconstitutional and that the President could solve all of this - instantly - be rescinding them. DHS wants their cash and, since this is the Obama administration, they've decided not to let a "good crisis go to waste." In addition to his "nice mall you've got here..." money grab, Johnson decided to use the opportunity to unveil the administration's newest advice on how to deal with potential terrorist activity. In the hall of hollow platitudes, it fits comfortably beside "get jihadis jobs" and "Strategic Patience." It's called "be careful at the mall" and, while it may be great for dealing with purse snatchers and pickpockets, in this context it sounds just as worthless as you'd expect.

"Americans should still feel that they are free to associate. They are free to go to public gatherings. But, it's critical that we have public awareness and public participation in our efforts. ...I would say that, if anyone is planning to go to the Mall of America today, they have got to be particularly careful. And, as the statement you read indicates, there will be enhanced security there that will be apparent to people who are there,"
It's nice of him to acknowledge that the fact the right of free assembly still exists, but I'm not sure how you're supposed to be pre-emptively 'careful' of a "random" attack on "a bunch of folks." Here's an idea: Instead of claiming that anti-government conservatives are a greater threat than ISIS, or suggesting that 'Climate change' is more dangerous than terrorists, or pretending that a jobs program will stop Islamic extremism, or arguing that terrorists have legitimate grievances, let's identify the actual problem and eliminate it. I know that's a crazy thought, and one that the administration is avoiding like the plague, but it's time to face facts. You don't see Global Warming threatening to murder people at the mall....
