But they need to get their act together.

GOP balanced budget plan is the right fight to pick

When a family household lives within its means, it experiences less stress and family discord. If they should slip into a not-enough-income-versus-debt dilemma for a period of time, then the primary bread winners feel a responsibility to eliminate the family deficit, and they do something about it.
That was the example shown by my dad, who would have been 90 years young on this date. That's why he worked three jobs at times, as did so many other parents during that generation. Well! That's not how things are done in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. The main reasons are that it is easier to spend other people's money irresponsibly, and if more of our money is needed to fund their spending addiction, then they just borrow more money or raise our taxes. Of course, many people feel, it's not their respective Representative or Senators who are to blame for this spending crisis. It’s the other 534 members of Congress and the president who will not act responsibly. Some of them just don't feel the need to act responsibly and eliminate the deficit. In fact, most of them do not feel the need to eliminate the deficit. They talk about it when they are running for re-election, but that's it.

Therein lies the big difference between President Obama and his Democrats versus most of the Republicans in Congress now. The president has proposed a budget that will never balance, according to the latest CBO analysis, while congressional Republicans are proposing this week a budget that will balance in ten years. In other words, the Democrats want to continue spending our money like irresponsible brats, while the Republicans are making the effort to be responsible even though the Democrats are going to fight them at every step. According to budget.house.gov, the Republicans' "Balanced Budget for a Stronger America" will achieve the following:
  • Expand opportunity by growing the economy.
  • Provide our troops the training, compensation, and support they need.
  • Repeal ObamaCare to clear the way for patient-centered reform.
  • Provide families with a fair, simple tax code to boost wages and create jobs.
  • Secure seniors’ retirement by strengthening Medicare and other programs.
  • Strengthen the safety net and help people get back on their feet.
  • Restore fairness by cutting spending and combatting cronyism.
Wow! If the Republicans could achieve just half of that framework then America would be stronger and headed in the right direction. The Democrats' budget makes us weaker with a bigger national debt and higher taxes. We all know that the devil is in the details, and that the Democrats will do their usual all-out fight fest with class warfare, bleeding-heart pretend compassion, and race card tactics to stop the Republican budget proposal. The Democrats also have a new tactic given to them by the Republicans recently. Namely, Republicans are fighting among themselves and they lack unity on some of the key strategic issues causing party discord. As my grandmother would say when as kids we were acting like brats, "Just stop it! Share and get along or you will all get a whupping!" We know what to expect from the Democrats. So we've got to whip the Republicans into working together by letting them know that we are paying attention. It also means that no one is going to get all they want, the way they want it, or when they want it. And if voters expect Republicans to fall on the sword for every issue, then we are the ones acting like unrealistic brats. Conservative and Republican voters do not want to blow this opportunity to demonstrate what Republicans would do if we were in control of Congress and the White House. It's doable in 2016, but not if Republicans don't get their act together. The Republicans' budget proposal is a great start! But they need our help. Don't be a "voter-brat", because it only helps the "Demo-brats". Remember the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: "Our lives begin to end when we remain silent about things that matter." A balanced budget matters. It's good business. Let's make some constructive noise!
