After Moses broke the first tablet of the commandments God handed down on Mt. Sinai, he returned for another copy. Maybe it’s time progressives-liberals-socialists stop trying to remove the 10 Commandments from public display and read them instead.
The 1st Commandment is stunning: I AM the LORD thy GOD, thou shalt have no other gods before me.
That is the problem. Most leftists don’t believe in God so they ignore this command and all the rest. They are experts at breaking the 10th Commandment: Thou shalt not covet.
Just to remind us what ‘covet’ means here’s Webster’s one-two punch: Covetousness is the inordinate desire for wealth or possessions or for another's possessions; a craving for possession, especially power. Leftist ideology is driven by coveting power, power through using other people’s money and resources for redistribution from the upper and middle class to those dependent on the god of government to rain down entitlement ‘manna’—enough to keep them fed, but also totally dependent.
For every shout out about tolerance and justice and fairness, the Left enslaves the ‘gimme pigs’ and incites them to protest and sometimes to riot.
The Left hates the constitution because it was written from a Godly perspective. They covet the latent power in government that, if harnessed, will make them gods and allow their covetous principles to reign supreme.
Witness a president sworn to uphold the laws of the land who then ignores them, and makes his own commandments that break several of God’s by stealing (IRS, money printing, outrageous expensive First Family vacations), lying (“If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor…”), cheating (Executive Orders that do not follow the Rule of Law, and making graven images that result in an ever expanding federal bureaucracy.
What about the 6th commandment? Thou shalt not kill—actually the Hebrew word is murder (the taking of innocent life). The Left is pro-abortion (killing babies) and moving towards euthanasia (offing the elderly, the infirm, and the sick) with death panels.
As a pastor I know that before I was born again, I broke all of God’s Commandments-- through hatred, lust, covetousness, and putting myself before God. Fortunately—by God’s grace—I was apprehended by Christ and was forgiven.
The Left will tell me not to judge, lest I be judged. How wrong they are. All I have to know is that the law is written on my heart. I have spiritual discernment which shows me right from wrong. I don’t have to ‘judge’—the word of God does that for me.
But I don’t hate the people on the Left. I pray for them and hope they will have a Come to Jesus Meeting that will change their lives and save their souls.
