'Is this thing on?' *AHEM* 'Death to America.'

Obama: 'This Iran nuke deal is great!' Khamenei: 'Death to America!'

On Friday, President Obama released his Nowruz video address. In it, he outlined his hopes that Iran and the U.S. could come to a peaceful nuclear deal. Under the terms of the plan, Iran gets sanction relief and nukes, we get a handful of promises and magic beans. He believes this "reasonable deal" is within reach, and "that our nations have a historic opportunity to resolve this issue peacefully - an opportunity we should not miss.”

Here's the clip: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif replied to the message via Twitter, saying "Iranians have already made their choice: engage with dignity. It's high time for the US and its allies to choose: pressure or agreement." Isn't that nice? Everyone seemed to be on the same page. Everyone except for Iran's Supreme leader Ali Khamenei, that is...
Iran's Supreme leader Ali Khamenei called for "Death to America" on Saturday, a day after President Barack Obama appealed to Iran to seize a "historic opportunity" for a nuclear deal and a better future, and as US Secretary of State John Kerry claimed substantial progress toward an accord. Khamenei told a crowd in Tehran that Iran would not capitulate to Western demands. When the crowd started shouting, "Death to America," the ayatollah responded: "Of course yes, death to America, because America is the original source of this pressure. "They insist on putting pressure on our dear people's economy," he said, referring to economic sanctions aimed at halting Iran's nuclear program. "What is their goal? Their goal is to put the people against the system," he said. "The politics of America is to create insecurity," he added, referring both to US pressure on Iran and elsewhere in the region.
So there you have it. Obama is positive that reducing sanctions against Iran and placing the terrorist state on the path to a nuclear weapon is a historic, imperative, opportunity. ...And it sounds like Khamenei agrees.
