Calls to my show indicate the sand is falling from some eyes.

It's not too late to wake up, USA . . . but let's get to it already

A caller to my radio show reminded me recently that the USA is not all of America, even though many people from around the world and us routinely refer to the USA as America. Duly noted! But we use it more as a shorthand way of referring to our nation, so no offense intended to other nations in this hemisphere.
That being said, America needs to wake up! President Obama, his administration and the federal bureaucracy under his direct authority are out of control. They routinely ignore laws, ignore the legislative and judicial branches of government, and ignore the expressed will of the people in order to impose on us their political agenda. Even worse, they think we are stupid! More accurately, they know that enough people are clueless to their deceit and deception, and that they can count on the mainstream media to assist them. They get away with it because they stick to their narrative even if it does not match the facts, and enough people will swallow the deceit and deception hook, line and sinker. On the fifth anniversary of the signing of The Unaffordable Care Act last week, President Obama had to heap some false praise on the law: “The bottom line is this for the American people – The Affordable Care Act is saving money for families and for businesses. This law is also saving lives.”

The MSM will simply say that he said it was working just fine without ever challenging the validity of what he said. Millions of Americans (there we go again) would disagree with his conclusion based on their own experiences, because the facts don't match his narrative. When Sergent Bowe Bergdahl was formally charged with deserting his unit in Afghanistan, the administration in the person of State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki still said trading him for the release of five terrorists being held at Guantanamo Bay was worth it. Members of Congress, most military people and most of us don't think so! But they said it anyway. A couple of months ago, the president declared Yemen a foreign policy success, and an example that their strategy was working. Now, the head of Yemen’s government has been driven out by Iranian-backed rebels, all U.S. personnel have been evacuated, and the country is in a deadly civil war. Success? And of course my favorite denial of the truth by President Obama, which I reference frequently because it's so blatantly false: "By nearly every measure, people are better off today than they were six years ago." He really believes that! A few examples of where this narrative does not match the facts include median income, money to save, taxes, health insurance, full time jobs, or any job. Even a stalwart liberal commentator, Chris Matthews, criticized Obama’s most recent State of the Union address as being out of touch with reality. But he and other liberals did not bother to follow up very long before they were back to their biased ways. Although Obama’s poll favorability is very low, it doesn't change much even when there are new revelations of deceit, deception and political dodgeball. The bottom line is that a lot of Democrat voters don't want to acknowledge the truth, and even more of them are clueless as to how they are being played by the administration and the Democrats in Congress. And then others are so emotionally invested into having a black president that they can't open their eyes to the truth. How else do you explain the election of this president and his administration for two terms? There's no other rationale! But good news! Another caller, Teresa, gave us some encouragement that a lot of voters are waking up. She said, in effect, Mr. Cain, hell must be freezing over because I voted for Obama and I've learned the truth and I'm done with Democrats. We played "Hallelujah" because there's got to be more voters like Teresa out there. We don't have to look outside this hemisphere to know what happens when a nation becomes more and more socialist with more and more people being sucked into government dependency, more businesses being targeted to live or die, and people being told only what the government wants them to believe. Countries like Cuba and Venezuela come to mind. That's not the America we want to become. This is still the United States of America! Wake up! It's not too late yet!
