Your most important 2016 announcement of the day: John McCain is running again.

It was generally assumed that every Republican's favorite Senator, John McCain, would call it a day ahead of 2016. Then, a few months ago, we started hearing rumblings that this may not be the case.

Maybe his unique friendship with those Syrian "moderates" convinced him that there were still a few people out there who wanted him in government. Perhaps he figures that, with his two "wacko bird" enemies running for President, his brand of "squish" is still needed. It's possible he thinks that one of them might win, and it'll be necessary for someone to stop them from getting all "constitutional" about things. It could be that he just smells a GOP win and wants to stick around for the perks. Whatever his reasoning is, John McCain has decided that he'll run again in 2016. No, not for President. It's not that bad. He just wants to hang around in his Senate seat forever ...or at least until they roll his old bones down the capitol steps. So, last night, he announced that he has “decided to run for re-election” The proclamation came, of course, during a TV interview with NBC. McCain claims that he's "ready" and that he sort of wants the job. As he puts it "I am more than ready. In some ways, I am eager.” So congratulations, Arizona voters! You will once again have the chance to cast that all-important ballot for a man who - during his announcement - compared his fellow GOP memebrs to Vladimir Putin. ....Or you could do us all a favor and find someone who's actually more inetersted in limiting government than he is in getting in front of a television camera. Your call.
