One day later... Cuba-sponsored terrorists kill ten in Colombia
On Tuesday, we learned that President Obama was removing Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
As we told you yesterday, Obama has personally "certified" that Cuba has not supported terrorism for a whopping six months, so - in his mind - they're ready to be given the all-clear. Cuba is ready to return to its once-great status as a tropical paradise, overflowing with American tourist dollars. The day after Obama made his announcement; a Cuba-backed terrorist carried out an attack that slaughtered ten Colombian soldiers and injured 17 others. As Agence France Presse reports:
Ten soldiers were killed and 17 injured in western Colombia Wednesday, in a dawn attack on an army garrison that officials blamed on leftist FARC guerrillas. The attack occurred in a small town in Cauca province, governor Temistocles Ortega told Blu radio, adding that four of the injured soldiers are in serious condition.

The Cauca region has been a stronghold for the rebel fighters, who are in peace talks with the Bogota government to end more than a half-century of hostilities. “This is precisely the war that we are trying to end,” President Juan Manuel Santos said on Twitter. The FARC in December declared a unilateral ceasefire, which it has said was meant to advance the negotiations, which have been under way since November 2012. The Colombian government last month temporarily halted air raids against the Marxist rebels. The five-decade-long conflict has killed more than 200,000 people and uprooted more than five million. The Castro family has supported the Marxist FARC outfit for decades and - to this day - continues to harbor FARC terrorists within their borders. As we told you yesterday:
  • Cuban military officers are acting as liaison between Venezuelan military and the narco-guerrillas of the Colombian FARC. Cuban General Leonardo Ramon Andollo, Chief of Operations of the Cuban MINFAR (Ministry of the Armed Forces), visited Venezuela and has acted as a go between the Cuban and Venezuelan military involved in drug trafficking. Thanks to the terrorist attack, the cease-fire has now ended and Colombia has resumed widespread bombing operations. But again, removing Cuba from the terrorist sponsor list means cheap rum and access to mediocre cigars, so it was obviously the right thing to do. FARC has been a fixture on the U.S. State Department's list of foreign terrorist organizations since 1997. h/t PJMedia
