RÉSO - An Underground City Case in point, for the shopping lovers, the R√âSO, short for réseau or network, is an amazing place to visit, regardless of the weather above. More than a mere shopping center, this is truly an underground city with numerous levels from shops, restaurants, libraries, businesses, residential areas, and nightclubs, to metro stops in this warren of excitement. No travel is complete without a day at the largest underground city in the world which currently encompasses over 20 miles and 200 points of entry from street level. Biking Around the City Welcome to the most bike-friendly city you will ever know! With over 400 miles of paths designated for bikes and over 3,000 bikes available for rent, Montréal is a wonderful place to sight see and exercise all at once! Though this is one of the best ways to get around on days of nice weather, be sure to read all the fine print when getting a bike from the kiosk. For instance, the daily, weekly and monthly rates are excellent, but require a large deposit, which will be returned a few days after the contract. Be sure to return the bike during the scheduled time limit, as overage fees can be costly. And, be sure to securely dock the bike, so the station knows the bike has been returned. But once you learn all the ins and outs of the system, you will fully appreciate the ability to take a bike from nearly anywhere in the city and drop it off anywhere else.

Habitat '67 What began as an exhibit at the World Exposition of 1967 has become an actual neighborhood. And though you cannot enter the complex, it is worth a look from a distance. Found in the old Port of Montréal, this group of homes is located along the St. Lawrence River. Why bother with the visit? The homes are stacked one upon another in a crazy shape of three pyramids and you wonder how they stand! Photos don't do this justice--you must see it in person! Biodôme There are on display some animals from a tropical rainforest, a maple forest, a gulf, a coast and sub-antarctic islands, making up five separate ecosystems within the Dome. See also plants from the rainforest, maple forest and the gulf--and these are just the beginning. Be sure to also visit the Insectarium, Botanical Garden and Planetarium when taking in the sights here. You may need more than a day to wander through each of the exhibits! The point to all of this is to show that humans and nature are able to not only live, but also thrive together. The four institutions show a cultivation of a new life where science and nature can interact in healthy ways in all its biodiversity. Experience nature in a whole new way!
