Very impressive: Bowl Cut Jr. climbs gigantic mountain in overcoat and dress shoes

His father claimed to have shot 11 holes-in-one the first time he ever played golf. So hey, why not? Bowl Cut Jr. could climb the tallest mountain in North Korea. And apparently he could do it without any mountain-climbing gear whatsoever - and without proper shoes, and in an overcoat.
Dictators of the Kim bloodline are amazing. Someone might want to help them with their vocabulary, though:
Reports say Kim Jong-Un reached the 2,750-metre peak alongside hundreds of fighter pilots and party officials. "Climbing Mount Paektu provides precious mental pabulum more powerful than any kind of nuclear weapon," the Rodong newspaper quoted him as saying to troops. The purpose of the visit is said to have been to see pilots from the Korean People's Army who have completed a tour of battle sites in the area. The Oxford English Dictionary defines "pabulum" as "bland or insipid intellectual matter, entertainment".

Mental pabulum, eh? Got that right. Then again, would you question a regime that had managed to land a man on the sun? Climbing a mountain in wingtips is no big deal for a guy who's actually had one of his loyal subjects bring back sun spots for him. All right, I don't really have that much of a serious point here. This regime is hilarious, but it's also dangerous insofar as it's absolutely determined to get its hands on nuclear weapons (and something they may already have one), and the hell North Korea puts its people through is absolutely no joke. Without the protection it enjoys from China's communists, the North Korean regime may well collapse. It would be nice if the U.S. had some leverage in dealing with China, but that's kind of tough when we owe them $800 billion. Then again, we deal with Iran and Cuba as if we're desperately in need of their love, so why would you think we'd deal any differently with China or North Korea even if we could? This whole cult of personality thing obviously strikes us as pretty silly, but when you think about it a little . . . gosh, America, didn't you vote for the guy who said he was going to make the planet heal and stop the rise of the oceans? Dictators do silly things like this because their grip on power depends on their ability to persuade their subjects they're some sort of superhuman demigod. You can understand a nation that's been kept in the dark from truth for generations might be gullible enough to buy it. What's America's excuse? Unless it's that our own media is quickly becoming every bit the propaganda organ as its counterparts in North Korea?
