Where are the accountable leaders

It was Democrat stalwart LBJ, who as Senate Majority Leader thwarted President Eisenhower's Civil Rights efforts in the late 1950s.

It was Democrat LBJ who drove America deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese swamp. It was Democrat LBJ who launched his Great Society's War on Poverty fifty years ago, that has since cost America 19 trillion dollars but has barely reduced the poverty level more than one or two percentage points. Now Democrat President Obama has elected to remove sanctions against Cuba because he believes they haven't produced any results over the last 50 years. So why hasn't this Harvard-educated Democrat come to the same conclusion regarding the non-productive War on Poverty, which continues to be infinitely more financially harmful to America than continuing sanctions against an oppressive "paint on rust" communist regime its citizens continue to risk their lives trying to flee? Now along comes Democrat Hillary Rodham-Clinton opining in the April 27th edition of The Des Moines Register, that "We can fix our dysfunctional political system and get unaccountable money out of it once and for all,..." Does anyone remember when this bravado-driven Democrat stood up and accepted responsibility, sans consequences, for the Benghazi debacle? Crafty Hillary knew there wouldn't be any accountability attached to her bold declaration because the Democrat Party wouldn't let that happen to their best hope to hang on to the White House come 2016. Anticipating her anointment rather than her nomination, the terrified Dems climbed aboard the Hillary bandwagon and their only viable option should Hillary come a cropper is Sen. Elizabeth "Pochantas" Warren of Massachusetts. A politician who is so far left she scares them more than she scares the GOP's herd of RINO's. If Sen. Warren does come forward to accept the challenge, how long do you think it will be until the hard-pressed Hillary discovers her bloodline has a long-forgotten ancestor with Cherokee roots who dodged sniper fire on the Trail of Tears? The Democrat Party under the leadership of President Obama failed to mend the American "dysfunctional political system" for the last eight years, so why would any sane voter give another Democrat Party candidate the opportunity to continue promoting those same progressive agendas that have proven to be failures since before the time of Karl Marx? Forget about "unaccountable money," I, for one, would settle for just removing all the unaccountable politicians. K.J. Dolney Columbia, SC
