American tax system is choking growth and preventing businesses from investing, or reinvesting, in America

It's on! Senators Perdue, Moran sponsor new FairTax bill

Senator David Perdue (R-Georgia) and 73 other members of this new Congress have introduced the Fair Tax legislation! Consider the Fair Tax Now!

The FairTax would replace the entire complicated U.S. tax code with a national sales tax. We would no longer tax income, investment or savings. Here’s what Sen. Perdue had to say about it:
Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas and I recently introduced the FairTax Act of 2015 in the U.S. Senate, and Rep. Rob Woodall, a fellow Georgian, introduced this bill in the House of Representatives. While the FairTax has its roots in Georgia, we are building momentum at the grassroots level across the country. But like any bold proposal, Washington insiders have been slow to act. Together we can continue to grow this movement. The current FairTax proposal now has 74 cosponsors, making it one of the most widely supported fundamental tax reform bills in Congress. Not only does the FairTax have powerful economic potential but it will also help rein in federal agencies like the IRS, preventing abuse and government overreach. Under this plan, Americans would be encouraged to save and invest and the amount they would pay to the federal government would be based on what they actually consume. The FairTax encourages innovation and investment and creates a level playing field with the rest of the world to support continued American growth. Given my business background, I understand the conditions required for businesses to thrive and compete. Right now, the American tax system is choking growth and preventing businesses from investing, or reinvesting, in America."
This is great news, although it's not the first time the FairTax has been introduced with nearly 100 co-sponsors. It never advanced in Congress because of timid conservatives in Congress, Democrats who want to maintain the status quo, and the lack of a full-court, grassroots press by the voters. Let's not let that happen again! The timing is especially opportunistic with the 2016 presidential election coming up. First, annoy the hell out of your representative and senators until they become co-sponsors of the bill. Don't accept the usual lame excuse of "Yes, I agree we need fundamental tax reform." Or, "We will certainly consider this alternative." We don't need another alternative! And reform does not work! The tax code was "reformed" in 1986 and it grew back to a nearly 80,000-page monster that's killing businesses, families and our world economic dominance. I have said it thousands of times and I will continue to say it! There is no greater boost to our economy and solving a lot of other problems than replacing the tax code. Period! With enough co-sponsors, all the new Republican president would have to do is sign it! Now that would be the news of the century. Let's make it happen this time!
