VA Fails Veterans Again, and Again, and Again, and Again

Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans Last Thursday, I was with Southern California Public Radio reporter John Ismay, an Iraqi War Veteran, when the VA police ordered us to stop our interview.

Related: • More VA Land Misappropriation and More Retaliation Against VeteransWhen a Good Deal is a Bad Deal We were standing in front of this illegal commercial sign inside the VA property, which is hanging on Veteran's Park Conservancy's (VPC) illegal amphitheater fence. Three weeks prior, I had filed a complaint about this same sign but the VA police will not cite VPC or the sign company. There are half dozen more signs just like this on the illegal fence, including nearly a hundred new Mazda's parked on VA property, plus a multitude of other illegal activity on Veterans sacred ground. LEGAL: The VA ignores a commercial sign illegally installed on an illegal fence inside the VA, 24/7. At yesterday's 375th consecutive Sunday Rally, we hung the American Flag on the outside of the front VA gate in honor of Memorial Day and a VA Police officer came out and said we had to take it down. He approached us toward the end of our Sunday Rally and I told him we're removing it because we're getting ready to leave, not because we were told to by the corrupt VA bureaucrats. ILLEGAL: The VA prohibits the American Flag hanging on the outside of the locked VA gates on Memorial Day weekend There's no end to the double standards and retaliation toward the Old Veterans Guard and our cause to "Save Our Veterans Land" and to "Bring Our Homeless Veterans HOME." Think about it: Inside the VA, the VPC homeowner group had an illegal sharing agreement and illegally broke ground for an illegal amphitheater and they put up an illegal fence to shield it. The fence company posted several illegal signs on the illegal fence and it's been that way for nearly a year ... and nobody gets cited, arrested, indicted, etc. But yesterday the Old Veterans Guard patriotically hung the American Flag on the front fence of the VA to pay honor to our Veterans who have passed on, and we're ordered to remove our revered Symbol of Freedom they pledged their lives to defend. Yesterday, 95-year old Aldo Dipre, a loyal member of the Old Veterans Guard, was planning to attend our Rally / Celebration but was rushed to the hospital. His wife Yvonne sent this photo of Aldo saluting because he wanted us to know that he was thinking of us and apologized that he was unable to attend. Think about this: Aldo Dipre, a 95-year old disabled World War II Veteran is hospitalized on Sunday and then patriotically apologizes that he was unable to attend our Rally and Memorial Day Celebration. On the other hand, VA bureaucrats irreverently and unpatriotically sent VA police to intervene our afternoon Celebration and ordered us to remove the American Flag that we hung as a tribute to our fallen Warriors who selflessly defended It in behalf of our Nation's Citizenry. Somehow, the VA always manages to upstage its last insult and mockery against America's Veterans, and things just continue to get worse, and worse, and worse .... never better. Moreover, there are numerous non-Veteran entities inside the VA illegally occupying sacred land that was deeded exclusively on behalf of the thousands upon thousands of war-injured and destitute Veterans who are forced to live homeless and hungry in deplorable and inhumane conditions. Yesterday, was just one of many examples of how things have gotten worse -- far worse -- for Veterans since the Federal Judgment was foolishly and incompetently vacated so that the illegal occupants can continue to profit off the sacrifices of our Veterans. These are very sad and disgraceful times in American history ... very sad, very disgraceful. There's an old saying that "We honor our dead Veterans by taking care of our living Veterans." Memo to the ACLU legal team: For Memorial Day weekend, do your patriotic gesture on behalf of our living Veterans and re-file the lawsuit -- and consult with Veterans in-the-know before you do, so that it's done right this time. Memo to the Secretary of the VA: Don't challenge it like your Department irreverently and irresponsibly did the last time. God Bless America and the Veterans Revolution!
Aldo Dipre, disabled World War II Veteran and loyal member of the Old Veterans Guard with Rafer Johnson, Legendary Olympic Decathlon Champion and Civil Rights icon, and Ted Hayes, "Mr. Patriot" at the 330th consecutive Sunday Rally of the Veterans Revolution to "Save Our Veterans Land" and to "Bring Our Homeless Veterans HOME." 300th Veterans Protest Celebration Interrupted by VA Police – Epoch Times At 3 p.m., in the middle of the protest and speakers, two Veterans Affairs police vehicles stopped on San Vicente Ave. and insisted that Rosebrock remove placards that were along the fence, otherwise they would issue a citation. “You need to remove the placards that are leaning against the fence,” said the officer, because “they are touching the VA’s property."
